Does this mean I have a "hole" in my 40 yd ?

I was recently clocked by pro scouts running a 4.94 40 yd dash. But my 20 yd short shuttle was a 4.44. I have heard in the past that your 40 time should be anywhere from .2-.3 of a second slower than your 20 ss time ( or is that the 20 yd sprint?) If so hell i should be running a 4.7? Any strenght and speed guys out there?

well it slightly means you are quicker than you are fast. mike mayok talked about it if your ss is .3 or .4 faster than you are quicker and vice versa. i personally have never heard that used before tho so i cant help you in that department.

**** I know! I was told i was going to be running on astroturf so i brought my Nike flats ( feels like your running barefoot). Totally unprepared. Had to borrow speed td's for the second sprint. It felt like i was running on a sandpit.

Obviously they don't check up on too much of the player's background before the combine. Hell, I still have my senior year left to play!

Already talked to my Head Coach. As long as I didn't get paid and don't accept any agents I'll be ok. I play in sort of an outlaw conference anyways.(no drug testing, ineligible players, ex cons , we dont get alot of respect either so ) 10 years ago my school let a player who played four years at The University of Miami come and play 1 year for them after his eligibility was up at the U. Needless to say they got caught and had to forfeit the season.

I wont give that away but its in the NAIA and if you know anything about the NAIA its filled with a few outlaw programs. And the player wasnt from Miami but from Florida State. He was a quarterback. They even talk about it in our media guide. Hell I played two years of JUCO and then signed with the University of Kentucky in 2002. I never attended a class but that season went against me and D1 clock ran out a long time ago. I attended school for awhile in between then and now and to be honest with you I don't know how I have any eligibility left but oh well.

But the way I see it the NCAA is filled with so many rules that hurt players anyway. I mean at the time I left UK I was only 21 and facing a major life altering event and they left me no room to **** up as a dumb kid that didn't have his priorities straight. Its all my fault and I reaped what I have sown but the NCAA (when it comes to D1) doesnt leave a kid a whole lot of room to mess up.
