Ohio is quickly becoming the site for HS football. Take for instance the Herbie games this year: Ohio teams had some of the best teams in the country, such as Lakeland (who was #3 at the time in the nation, and I believe are now #2) and Byrnes (who was #1 and is now like #4 or something like that) and competed against some of our teams. Lakeland played our defending state champions St. Xavier, while Byrnes played Moeller, a struggling team. Both St. X and Moeller were not rated nationally at the time. St. X lost to Lakeland 24-21 in OT, and Moeller lost to Byrnes 21-20 because they missed an XP.

There will be no consensus here. Win loss has to do with coaching, $ (alumini) tradition, teamwork, scheduling and facilities...not only player talent.

Winningest Teams in NCAA History Meet in Week Three: Just one week after the Big Ten slate featured four of the top seven all-time winningest programs in NCAA history taking the field together, the two winningest schools in college football history will meet on Saturday when Michigan travels to Notre Dame. The Wolverines rank first in NCAA history with 851 total victories and a winning percentage of .7446 (851-280-36) while the Fighting Irish are second in both categories with 813 triumphs and a winning percentage of .7439 (813-266-42). Michigan, which leads the all-time series 18-14-1, will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak to Notre Dame as its last victory over the Fighting Irish occurred in 2003. Last weekend, Ohio State picked up the 776th win in school history to remain tied for seventh-place all-time (with Alabama) by knocking off Texas, which stands third in NCAA annals with 801 triumphs. Penn State, which ranks just behind the Buckeyes in sixth place all-time with 772 victories, fell at Notre Dame on Saturday.

if these schools want to acknowlege their many many triumphs over powerhouses like brown, havard and vermonts school for the blind back before alot of major programs were in existance i guess they are welcome to. i'm with the NCAA in only recognizing "modern football" which is played today because football in the 1800's and early 1900's doesn't even resemble the game played today. when games were played and there was no foward pass and they wore jeans and no helmets that is not football people. anyway according to the NCAA oklahoma leads the way with 521 and is adding to the lead. BOOMER SOONER!!!
