Peaking with the use of gear for next show???
Ok, brace yourself for a long one…. And no this is not the first time I have had to say that… lol jk…
Anyways,
I have been lifting for about 10 years now and I have always loved bodybuilding and I always wanted to get in to it completely. A few years back I decided that I was finally going to do a show, so I picked one out and with the advice of some friends who are professional natural bodybuilders I set out dieting. Everything went well and I was getting shredded, then about 4 weeks our from the show I decided to take a look at the banned substance list for this organization, and what do you know, phera plex was on there, I had taken this a few years earlier, so I called the promoter, told them of my situation and found out that not only could I not do this show but I also could not compete with their organization for the next 8 years. Needless to say I was not happy, I finished out my last 4 weeks of dieting, and I was done with bodybuilding.
Then about 7 or 8 months ago I started thinking about bodybuilding again, and I had a thought, I’ll do a NPC show, so what if I don’t have the size that some of these guys do at least they will not ban me from competing. So I did just that, and I just competed in my first bodybuilding show ever. It was a NPC show and I got 2nd in my class (light weight). In addition to placing 2nd I also qualified to compete for my pro-card at nationals next year, which I definitely intend on doing, and I did all this natural, (I consider myself natural, I have never don’t steroids , I have done some over the counter pro-hormones, but I don’t really count those).
From here this is my plan, I am going to hit my first cycle in a few weeks (for those of you who will ask my stats are below), I am going to do a 12 week cycle of test enth @ 500ml per week, with a 4 week d-bol kick start at 40mg per day, then I am going to do my PCT with nolva at 40/40/20/20. I have been planning and researching this cycle for a loooooooong time. The total time on including PCT will be 18 weeks, I will then take 18 weeks off, and this timing should be just right that I can plan a 2nd cycle to peak for the show.
This is the point where the questions begin. Like I said I have been planning the first cycle for a long time and I have spent much time researching it, and I feel I have a pretty good game plan and understanding of what I need to do. I also mentioned that I had just done my first show, although this was the first time I have actually competed it’s not the first time I put myself through a diet like I was doing a show. This is also something that I feel that I have a good feel for, but I am used to dieting to peak like a natural bodybuilder that is 25-30 weeks, and I don’t know how to prep for a show when on the juice.
Ok, I think I am rambling, here are my questions,
What should the 2nd cycle look like so I can peak for the show?
With doing a cycle leading up to the show I am assuming that I can diet for a shorter period of time, I think that some do 8-12 weeks rather than 25+???
Should I use the same compounds (Test E and D-bol) or do I need to implement something like whinny for the 2nd cycle leading up to the show?
Like I said I feel that I have a pretty good handle on building a cycle, and on peaking for a show, but when you combine the two I am lost.
Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated……
L8ter….
Oh yea stats….
5’6’’ 27 years old, I have been training for over 10 years, off season weight 188lbs ~8% (I know some of you will question this, I have the 7 site skinfold done), show weight 152lbs ~4-5%

This a tuff questions because your new to AAS. I like your first bulking cycle (except for the PCT, nolva alone is not good enough), but that is not what you want for a precontest one. There are two ways of looking at this, you can play it safe and have ok results or throw caution to the wind.
A proper pre contest cycle is expensive and taxing on your body. More importantly do you have a precontest diet worked out? Without that your wasting your time, money, and health.
Your advantage is your fairly lean to start.Last edited by gymfu; 10-01-2011 at 03:18 PM.

yea i have a B.S. in nutrition and exercise, and I was pretty dialed in for my last show..... I took 2nd in my class and qualified to compete for my procard at the NPC nationals... so i feel like natural i have a good grasp on diet, i am just not sure how change it for show prep when using gear.

That's a really good result for natural!
I have a friend that is competing next week and he basically did a bulking cycle like you plan on doing around a year before the comp. Then 16 weeks out from the comp he started dieting. 12 weeks out he started with sus 250. Then about 6 weeks out he changed to a shorter ester test prop and added winny. 2 weeks out he dropped sodium intake. Saw him yesterday and he looks good!
Just thought I'd post what he did. Hopefully it will help.. Good luck!
