    Realistic competition preperation

    Good day guys and girls

So I've been hitting the gym seriously for 4 years now always just concentrating on strength and a general good look. So now I want to take it one step further and start competing. My annual vacation is coming up in January and it's the only 3 weeks in the year that I take off from gym. So I was thinking. When I return late January, what would be a proper preparation time for a competition? Would I be able to start competing in June/July if I follow a vigorous training schedule? My eating plan has been on par for the last 6 months. Dropped 3% at a steady pace just by changing my eating habits.

I am currently 6ft 190lbs on about 10% body fat. I have amended my program to include much more cardio so will hopefully drop a few % in the coming months. I want to do a light cycle of Test again just for that extra boost.

What do you guys think? Realistic goal for June/July?

From a conditioning stand point you shouldnt have any problems getting into contest shape by July. Whether or not you are carrying enough muscle would be a concern. At 6ft/190lbs and 10% you would more than likely be hitting the stage in the low 170's high 160's in bodyweight. At 6ft tall that's not a lot of muscle. If its a small local show and/or one where they have a Novice Division you could get your feet wet.

12 weeks is the standard time for contest prep.

Thanx fireguy. Yeah thats the one thing I was afraid of, is the size that i will have once I have lost the last bit of body fat. So I'll see how the bulking goes. It is indeed a novice competition. So on the one hand I would like just to experience it and see how it goes. But on the other I don't want to make a fool of myself looking like Stephen Hawking on stage compared to the other guys.

Might call for a bit more than a light test cycle then...

What is your cycle history? 190 is light bro for your height. You'll be a very tall middleweight. Why do you want to do a "light test cycle?"

I have done 1 cycle. 15 weeks of Test Cyp (2ml per week) combined with Dianabol for the first 6 weeks and Anadrol for the last 4 weeks.

I consider that as a light cycle, so would do something like that again in February. But after some thinking I might not go for the "light" idea. Go big or go home, right?

My goal have always been a stable 220lbs with 10% body fat. Aiming to be there end next year.
