Do light brown skinned people need tan?

Hello, i have a contest in exactly 1 month and due to the fact that im of indian origin, ill be the only brown skinned guy among only white guys. My trainer told me i dont need tan but im afraid that the other contestants will look darker than me after tanning.. Do you think i need a light tan or simply oil is enough?

Definitely still use tan I am of southeast Asian descent an carry a decent tan year round but the darker the better without looking like a weirdo! The stage lights will wash you out without a proper tan and oil.

from what I understand it helps to control acne and tighten skin besides just tanning you

you 100% will need to use a tanning product.
