People need to stop saying that Phil won because of 'politics'...
It's complete and utter bullshit.
Look, I'm a big Kai fan. I've been following him since 2011, he's my role model, I have the uttermost respect for him. But Phil didn't win because of politics or anything like that. Remember when people said Jay Cutler was winning because of politics, and then one year he went with the rival company and won anyway? Yeah. Olympia is politics amirite?
If Kai won, it would have been because of his freakish size, or because of his rear lat spread, but in the end, the overall package that Phil brought on stage was more complete and polished and that's why he won. Even though bodybuilding is a subjective sport, who are you going to trust more, 7 experienced judges who have years of experience with the sport, or a bunch of loud mouth nobodies on Facebook and bodybuilding.com? Yeah I'm sorry, but for me the choice is obvious.

He did look better the second day, but what's the point of prejudging if he can come in flat and wet then win the next day anyway?

The night show only matters if the contest is still neck and neck and most know if it is or not shortly after prejudging. I would like to see that changed, give them no sign of hope and make them come in at their best the entire show but that doesn't seem likely to happen.
As far as politics being involved, of course it is - bodybuilding is perhaps one of the most politically corrupted sporting organizations out there. Sure, sometimes it's easy to make the right call but anyone who has been watching bodybuilding for years has seen numerous very questionable calls to even outrageous at times.
Corruption can be defined by several things:
1. Forcing certain bodybuilders to compete in shows they don't want to - happens all the time.
2. Never providing the means for an up and comer to make a breakout year when he's a threat to who's in your corner.
3. Having judges that make their living in the industry, meaning their purses are tied to many of the competitors in one way or another. How on earth could anyone see that as anything but corruption? It's like having vendors who sell paraphernalia for the Dallas Cowboys referee the game. Of course you're going to want the Cowboys to win, they do and you sell more paraphernalia making it easy to turn a blind eye now and again.

phil won cuz he was better polished i think, and i think he has no weak point compared to other body parts of him self, his arms are THE BEST! and damn those traps.
IMO kai is second best because of his traps and forearms and his rear delts are not as good as his back

Ill be honest at that level it is so damn hard to tell. My inclination was that Kai had him but at that level its so hard to pick not being an educated judge and knowing just what they are looking for.

Those pics are very cool. I think when we see the size of the beasts we actually forget what we are looking at and its too hard to see the details of them and their differences
