3.5oz chicken breast = 31g prot?
Thats what it said in muscle and fitness magazine, but that doesn't sound right to me at all... Most people, including myself, eat about 6-8oz of chicken breast, that means there is around 70g of protein in 8oz chicken breast.. that doesn't seem right to me.

well Muscle & Fitness is a pretty popular magazine with a lot of credibility to it, but I knew that wasn't right. How many kcals per 6-8oz piece of chicken?

ResultsItem Serving Size Fat Grams Calories
chicken, breast (w/o skin roasted) 1/2 breast 3 142
thats from the online calorie counter, in M&F it said 3.5oz = 170 cals, also not right at all. 6-80z piece of chicken breast = about 45 g of protein and 320ish cals.. correct?

3.5 oz (100 grams) of cooked, breast = 31 g of protein, 3.6 g of fatm with a total of 165 cals..
8 oz (227 grams) of cooked, breast = 70.4 g of protein, 8.1 g of fatm with a total of 375 cals..Last edited by Elliot; 06-26-2004 at 02:22 PM.

It just depends on the brand and the leanness of the chicken breast. It could have more or less fat depending on a lot of things. I brand I buy supposedly has 41g of protein and 1g of fat per 5oz breast..... but who knows. Honestly just go with the numbers on your bag of chicken, they are usually a good ballpark figure

and 320 cals devided by 4 would ended up at 80 grams of protein
I think this is right since each gram of protein would equal 4 calsabstrack@protonmail.com

I just found this calorie calculator.
Chicken, breast (w/o skin roasted) 4oz breast, 3g fat, 142 cal
This means that with the 3g fat that 4oz chicken has 28.75g Pro
