carb/fat
Why can't i mix carbs and fat? And also is there any time of day when you could have a pro/carb/fat meal?

The short answer is, if fat is present when carbs are present and insulin is released, you have a greater propensity to store that fat a body fat. The insulin shuttles the fat to be stored.
And no, there is no reason to have a pro/carb/fat meal.

But whe would the propensity to store the fat as bodyfat be the least? If you ate the meal b4 u train, b4 some kind of cardio, an hour or 2 after the gym? I'm basically askin g what is the best time to have a pizza or like a sandwich with white bread , I know its never a good time, but when would it do the least damage. Pizza is basically the only cheat meal I ever have, I can go for months without sweets, ice cream, chocolate, McDonalds and so on. There is something about breads that satisfies my cravings, I like anything thats dry and chewy!
And thanx for the help in both my threads Aboot!!
I hope SC doesn't read this coz he'll kick my a$$! thank god I didn't mention milk anywhere!Last edited by bor; 11-28-2004 at 06:43 AM.

The rule as always: a cheat meal is a cheat meal. Screw it. Just have it. If you're eating clean the rest of the time it will help you reach your goals rather than hinder it. Just eat your pizza and don't worry about it.

train hard with high intensity deplete all your muscle glycogen then take the pizza all the carb will be stored as glycogen with minimal spill over.

Needless to say, for anyone who takes that HALFWAY seriously.
DO NOT eat f*cking PIZZA after training.
Dex/pro, then a CLEAN carb/protein meal 1-2 hours after that.
Unless you like to PURPOSELY store fat when your insulin levels are through the roof.
Fat is NOT STORED as muscle glycogen, EVER, but will be stored as adipose tissue (FAT) VERY easily if one is to do this.
Please don't give out such advice if you really don't understand nutrition.

That makes more sense then, thanks for clarifying. If it's a cheat meal though, h*ll, it's a cheat meal, so you just eat it any time that is why it's called cheating.

PWO : bad idea coz it contains fat
PPWO : still bad idea for the same reason
b4 bed : probably the worst time of all
b4 training (like an hour or 2) : I was thinking the training session would burn the extra calories? And a hard cardio session (like m.a.) would be a better choice then b4 the gym (although there would be no fat burning involed in both cases)?
And thanx for all the replies!

Why not make your cheat meal/day on an off day from the gym?
I have my cheat on Saturday when i have no cardio or weight training, makes it easy for me personally.
Now today i am back on the horse and ready to tear my arms to **** in a few hours.
