    Thoughts on Aspartame

I've hear aspartame is pretty bad for you. Does anybody know why? What is in it that makes it bad? How much would you have to take for it to effect you?

I don't know but I can't stand the taste of aspartame. Worst sweetener ever.

my problem with aspartame especially on a cutting diet, is that the goal in a cutting diet to lose weight and that means to stay ayway from sugar and in essence we need to kill our sugar cravings to ultimately be succesful. I understand that splenda has no effect on your insulin levels but it just makes dieting that much harder because you do not kill the sugar cravings and it might lead to indulging on something sweet.

there are other sweeteners which you could use and still get your insulin levels up. Splenda seems to be the safest route to go though.

I posted a bit on aspartame and other artifical sweeteners within this thread recently. You may want to check it out:
