    Does anyone fast??

I always hear about the health benifits of doing a fast every now and then but I have never bothered to look into it or try it.

Does anyone here do it?? For how long?

    BS if you ask me.

Sleep and rest are more beneficial.

I could fast a Max of maybe 2 hours.

The lady who does my colonic always tells me about the benefits of fasting. She fasts for 7 days taking in fluids containing fibre (psyllium husks) and bentonite clay. She says it clears her out of all old food matter and makes her able to take in nutrients better when she returns to normal eating. She also claims it boosts immune system because the body doesnt have to fight the bacteria generated by all the old food matter. These are the reasons I have colonic as I want the benefits but I dont want to fast and lose muscle mass.

I think fasting would be good for you timtim. Fasting has a way of clearing out your conscious, it helps you see the “big picture,” in which a person starts being kinder to his fellow man, begins to have more inner peace which makes a person happier. Is not that what we all want in life, to be as happy as we can possibly be?

Many of the greatest men practiced fasting, good for the mind, body, and soul.

The appetite is a link to all earthy desires, when you suppress it you’re earthy desires diminish while your spirituality is enhanced. You don’t have to believe in a particular God to get the benefits. Try it out and you will see, good for the character.

I doubt it would lead to any noticable muscle loss at all unless you do it for to long. 7 days seems like a stretch. 3 would probably be more resonable

I knew a guy who got cancer numerous times and told me that he fasts maybe 1-2 times a year for 2-3 days. I wouldnt be able to scientifically nor have I read any proof exactly how it would benefit one. All is speculation, but Muslims do it for that and spirtuality.

I prefer an all organic diet, that definitly helps.

The reasons the lady lists are pretty good...but you should remind her to eat her veggies and she will get the same results.
As long as she is feeding the GOOD bacteria with oligosaccharides in her veggies that are not fully digested and also gaining the fibre they offer she will be in good standing.

i actually do fast for 2 days or so about once a year, usually after a bulking cycle where i have been stuffing myself for 3-4 months straight. it really does make me feel good and since i dont do it very often it doesnt really have any effect on my muscle mass. when i do go back to eating i just have more energy and feel more athletic. i think its worth trying once just to see how it makes you feel.
