    4% Fat Ground Beef

I went to the grocery store yesterday and all I saw in the meat dept. was top sirloin ground beef at 15% fat (15 grams of fat per 4 oz).

I rang the butcher's bell and asked if there was any ground beef less than 15%. He came back with 4%!

I bought two pounds on the spot.

    4 oz ground beef:
    4 grams fat
    125 calories
    25 grams protein

Maybe this is nothing new to some of you; however, I am thrilled to find a somewhat low fat meat alternative to chicken.

Unfortunaly we dont have any tony's meat around here(I live in sweden).

Some butcher might have it but for some reason the leaner the meat the more expensive. 2.2 ibs of ground beef(1kg) 10% fat costs 6.6$ here if your lucky and usualy over 7$.

The 15-20% can be found for just 5$ though.

The cost issue is the same here in the US. I think its because in the lower %fat meats youre getting more "meat" per weight...?
I bought two pounds of the 4% for around $8. Worth every penny, however, it lasted me a day and a half. Time to go back to the store.

yeh, no doubt....the fatty stuff is cheaper but when you throw out the fat/grease, you have less....man, i used to eat shiat with the cheapest ground beef and not drain the fat like chili, spaghetti sauce, burgers, hamburger helper

Okay, I'll see if my wife wants to get it. I am going to sit there and watch her eat it, if she does.
