    Unhappy Not Gaining !!

Ok guys I am getting really really frustrated.
for the past 3 weeks I have been eating like a madman.
6 meals a day every 3-4 hours and I've been stuffing myself till I feel like I'm going to puke it all back up.
heres what my so called diet looks like I work nights so I sleep from 6:00am till 2:00pm

2:00pm 6 over easy eggs with fried mashed potatos and a bowl of wheat germ.

    4:00pm cup of wheat germ

    6:00pm 8 boild eggs.

10:00pm 1lb steak with mashed potatos

1:00am 1lb steak with mashed potatos

    4:00am can of tuna

5:30am 2 bowls of quaker oats.

I have done this for the past 3 weeks and I have actually lost 3lbs!!!
I mean there is no way I could eat anymore than what I already do I feel sick after I get done eating. I cant get above 163. and now I'm at 158lbs.
I've been doing heavy weights when I train and I only do 10 mins of cardio to warm up. and I always have a protine shake after a workout. what am I doing wrong?

Based upon what's available in your initial post, you need more fat in your diet. Try adding some flaxseed oil or some natty PB in your 6PM and your 4AM meals. Also, I'm sure they taste wonderful, but the mashed potatoes should be replaced with a complex carb. Oats, whole wheat pasta, or brown rice would be much better. How lean is the steak that you are eating? 1lbs of steak in consecutive meals is quite a bit. You must make some pretty good money to support this kind of diet!

Also, what time of the day do you normally work out? You said that you take in a protein shake after your workout. How much protein are you talking about? Is it strictly whey protein only (no carbs)?

I would recommend that you make some minor changes to your diet before attempting to overhaul it entirely. I think you'll be more successful that way. It's better to conquer the baby pool before attempting to swim in the ocean!!!

thank you for the advice I will do as you say and replace the potatos with brown rice. and add some PB to my diet. To tell you the truth I buy a 2lbs steak (London Broil) and just cut it in half.

I will repost my diet as soon as I find out the macros

I highly recommend checking out the stickys at the top of the diet forum. Lots of good sample diets and recommendations that will accommodate whatever your fitness goals are.

You need carbs in your post workout meal/shake. I'd recommend 40grams of whey and 60-80grams of either maltodextrin or dextrose. Some do 50/50 of maltodextrin/dextrose and some do 100% of either one. This will facilitate the replenishing of your glycogen levels so that you muscles can immediately begin to repair themselves.

Make sure the peanut butter is NATURAL PB! Laura Scudders or Smuckers will do.

Dude I can eat all that in prolly 2 meals....seriously.
Maybe you need to work on stretching your stomach a bit to fit more food in there.

all that protein and no vegetables? i would hate to be your colon. you might want to add 4 cups of green vegetables a day. you dont need 16 ounces of meat 2 times a day, thats just stupid. your having about 150 grams of protein per meal there and its being wasted and these 2 meals are probably 1000 calories each. 5 ounces of london broil is about 225 calories so the meat alone is around 700.

take a look at the stickies and really get a sense of what you need to do.

why would you eat anything fried by the way? the potatoes are fried?
