PPWO- carbs important?
hey guys
im on a mmassive cut at the mo just want to see what the general consensus is on carbs in both the PWO meal and PPWO meal? i ask because i train at about 8pm, with PWO shake coming at about 9:15pm. i get home at bout 10pm, then bed at 11!
so shud the PPWO meal still have carbs in it or shud i replace it with fat to remain as anabolic during my sleep as i can?
Or do i go xtreme and have a pro/fat shake in the middle of the night?
cheers

In my opinion and this is what I do...
PWO meal YES to carbohydrates. For a PPWO meal, see Im same way as You I do workout late sometimes and when I go to bed at 10 - 11 pm my PPWO is always a Pro/Fat meal. Sometimes a can of tuna and some peanuts, sometimes a chicken breast and olive/flax oil.

I'd work out earlier or go to bed later. so you can have ppwo and pro/fat before bed.
If you cant do that then have a whole food PWO and a pro/fat before bed.

Also, a PPWO meal consisting of PRO/CARBS before bed is perfectly fine, bro.
All that jazz you hear about no carbs before bed is bunk. I frequently work out later at night and have my normal PPWO meal. I have not noticed any differences whatsoever.

^agree that carbs are not bad to have before bed, but a pro fat will take longer to digest and keep you anabolic during night time for longer.

Agreed.
For me, like nirish, sometimes I had to workout later on at night. And, as we all know, gotta get those carbs in PWO.
Also, I would say that a small amount of EFAs with your PPWO meal prior to bed would not be a problem either as long as they fit into your daily macros.
