    protein and fat before bed

I read a few times that mixing protein and fat before bed is bad why is this because I currently do this. I usually have a protein shake mixed with 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil before bed. so it's about 225 cal, 19g protein, 0 carbs, and 14g of fat.

i have recently done away with protein shakes before bed and eaten lean meat now.....such as turkey sausage or deer meat....it takes longer to digest and is better over all. there are slower digesting proteins maybe use them but if u use whey its not a good source of bed time nutrition

When consuming protein as long as you have either fat or Carbs, either one will result in slower gastric emptying. The other factor is the type of protein, whey compared to casein. Casein is a much slower process compared to whey. Hence I prefer consuming egg, casein protein consumed with some fat...........before bed.

casein blend with skim milk, egg whites, ice

    &

1/4 to 1/2 cup -- after blended in coffee grinder:

    few almonds
    few walnuts
    few hazelnuts
    1 Tblsp whole flax seed

I start drooling like a drunk mixing a Jack and Coke when I'm blending this baby up.

Right now, I am using 6 to 8 of each nut. One Tbsp of Flax seeds. I have been adding natty PB, as well, because I am looking for some intentional size.

When we speak of egg whites they are pasteurized. They look raw but are safe to drink and undetectable in a shake I add 5 to 8 egg whites... Enjoy!

Finally, go out and buy a coffee grinder for 15.00 bucks it has been a great investment for me. You can get very creative and diverse with your shakes.

Duly noted. It is, on average, a high calorie shake and I am looking for some calories and size at the present time. I have started my first cycle at 37 yrs old , 5'10" , 195lbs. I am twenty-four days into the cycle and my body is slopping up everything I eat like bread to a plate of gravy. I will be reducing the calories in the shake as the weeks and my body progresses. Right now it is starving and I'm gonna feed it.
