    What is dextrose?

    This word is thrown around alot on this section in the forums and I have no idea what this is. I googled' it and it came up w/ saying its just sugar. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Dextrose is corn sugar, the same thing as glucose that diabetics take to spike their insulin . The purpose of it is to cause an insulin spike postworkout, so that more protein and glycogen can get absorbed and your body will repair itself more efficiently.

    dextrose is the pharmaceutical name for Glucose. And is used as A&F stated above.

    Since when would a diabetic SPIKE their insulin ?
