    Protein shake before bed

Is having a protein shake w/ milk minutes going to bed a bad or good thing? Will this lead to gaining unwanted fats?

    1) It all depends on you your daily macros consumed.
2)If you have NOT obtained you daily required macros, consuming a whey shake is not bad but not optimal.

Also depends on what cycle you are currently on, if wanting mass then milk wont do much damage the lactose may help. If cutting go for water as you dont want carbs before bed, plus try go for a slow digesting protein before bed rather than whey, usually Instantised Casein or Micellar Casein are great.

i dont like to think of daily macros as much as i think of a constant stream of aminos flowing to my muscles

your body doesnt care what you consume in a given time period, it cares what its getting all the time.

i always do a casein shake before bed... in water when cutting, in water or milk when bulking. i do 50g casein, 30g whey (i'm 6'8, 280 so thats about right for me)

Very good information, I already knew some of it, but it sounds better with his accent.

    What's your reasoning?

You're saying that, for example, you can drink a 250g protein and 300g carb shake first thing in the morning and not eat a single thing the rest of the day..... and that will have the same effect as splitting those nutrients into 6 smaller meals throughout the day? Because, you're saying that your body cares what you get in a day, it doesn't care what it gets hour by hour.

    I disagreed with

"your body doesn't care what you consume in a given time period ?
