    Is this ok?

Aite so last night due to time constraints I had to workout late last night and I didnt get home till 1:30 AM. I was gonna go str8 to bed so I put a scoop of whey and a scoop casein in the blender with 2 tbsps of natty peanut butter. I drank it down, took a shower and went str8 to bed. Is mixing up the proteins ok or should I have waited like an hour then take my casein?

Usually mixing protein sources is actually not a good idea but its not the worst thing you can do. As far as a PWO meal that was pretty terrible I might say.

Ya, you dont need carbs after workout. But Peanut butter and whey?

Get either solid food or do some BCAA's directly after workout. 30min later have whey and fish oil and an hour later a real pro/fat meal with a better fat source than PB.

C Bino. Can you explain why mixing to differnt protein sources together is not a good idea. I have read a lot of people mix isulate and casen all the time as there shakes. I cant think of any harm it would do and they would be digested at differnt times any way, right? Let me know.

Different protein sources can cause fermentation in the stomach OR allergies from peptides not being full broken down and leaking through the gut.

This would come from the different digestion times required to convert the entire food to chyme before moving through the pyloric valve and into the duodenum...so either releasing too late or too early.

Ok thanks. I will take yourt word for it. No more mixing my proteins together. If I have a shake that serving size is 1 scoop. Its 25g protein. Can I take 2 scoops of that at once? Or wait like a hour and then take another.

It really depends on the time of day and for what purpose you are using the whey.

If you want to use immediately following exercise, I would suggest just one scoop and try to have a meal 1hour later.

If you are concerned about PWO meal and getting to bed than just have a shake made of completely casein, there is no real reason u cant have a slow digesting shake PWO.

In fact most higher level BB's will tell you they just consume food PWO anyways.
