Critique my diet please! Want to lose fat and tone up!
Want to shed the last of baby fat and shred!
7:30- 1/2 whole wheat bagel with light butter
fruit (either a banana, apple, or pineapple)
6 oz carrot juice
10:00- apple ( sometimes with all natural pb)
1:00- whole wheat pasta with very light sauce and veggies
or.. home made lentils with veggies such as (green, red, and yellow peppers) celery, corn on cobb and more. (all cooked in lentils)
or. chicken breast with small portion of brown rice & black beans
or.. chicken breast with a potato
3:30- fiber one peanut butter & oats bar
5:30- small spinach salad(i add mandarin oranges, cranberries, & almonds) with light olive oil & balsamic
lean turkey burger (no bun) with steamed zucchini, squash, & broccoli
7:30 - some almonds or fruit
9:00- small serving of all natural rice pudding with some cinnamon (i know i probably shouldnt be having it but i have a big time sweet tooth and i have found that it doesn't have all the added ingredients such as high fructose and crap, and it only has 110 cals)
A Few Nights A Week (maybe 2-3) I do have a glass of wine or 2 at night with few pieces of cheese (sometimes a few crackers with the cheese) Cheese is definitely a weakness!
I do have a cheat day once a week. usually spinach pizza! yumm! or all natural plain frozen yogurt with fresh fruit toppings!

The first glaring thing I see is you are only having protein with two of the meals listed. It appears there is an overabundance of carbs as well as too much fructose. I would suggest reading a few stickies at the top of this and try redesigning everything. I know you asked about adopting my wifes diet but I can assure you the changes would be way too much to implement all at once.
My guess is you are probably carrying around 100lbs of lean body mass (judging by your stats in the other thread). A diet in the 1200-1500 a day calorie range with a 40P-40C-20F split would be a decent start. Even at that split this is going to be adding in quite a bit of protein into your diet and will pull out some carbs. I would shoot for 5 meals a day in the 250-300 calorie range. Put something together that falls within the range of the numbers I listed and then we will see what modifications need to be made.

730 - fruit + carrot juice
10 - apple
530 - salad w/ mandarin oranges and cranberries
730 possibly more fruit instead of protein
WAY too much fruit! Look up the nutrition facts for the fruit youre having, and add up the sugar on top of your fiber one bar, sauces, and pudding.Last edited by wakatak87; 03-20-2010 at 02:20 PM.
