    Diet for Wife

Ive just started a cutting diet and my wife is wanting to do the same, should her diet consist of the same thing (just less quantity) or is their any different approach to a womans diet?

    Stats

    weight 125-128 fluctuates

bf% ???? not sure but she is thin, can see the outline of her abs peeking

Training 2yrs solid lifting 5 days a week. She hits the weights as hard as I do.

    Age 22

    any help would be great

There really is no different approach to a woman's diet at all, however with women I generally like to see them include skim milk (for the calcium) and Low fat yogurt for the same source, just try and get the lowest "sugars" content you can ( I like greek yogurt for this reason )

Now some would suggest just taking a calcium supplement for this but don't fall for it. Unless it is colloidal or gel- tab (which you won't find) her body will not assimilate it the same way and would not absorb it as well. A Low or No fat skim milk will work well here and it will also provide a little more Vit. D and Iron, if you can get all three of these from other means then great, but for now this is the only differences she could possibly adjust.

Other than that, she would do well on the same thing your doing more than likely, especially at 22 YO.

Good post Jngymrat. The diet should be identical to what a man of the same goal would eat in terms of choices and ratios for protein, carb, and fat sources. I always like to structure diets for my female client to include a meal of no sugar added Greek yogurt with berries early in the day. I don't bother with skim milk as I feel that compared to the yogurt, it has nothing to offer in terms of protein/sugar ratio, digestive enzymes, and how filling it is. Beyond that, I agree that calcium chews and a female specific multivitamin are nonsense - go for a good whole-food based multi at your local vitamin shop.
