Clen while on a bulking diet??
Hey everyone this may be dumb question but I was really curious what type of effect this would have? I know Clen is usually used in cutting but was curious if you did use it well on a lean bulking diet would you either be able to drop bf well gaining muscle or maintain current bf well gaining muscle? Any logic to these two theories that popped into my head? Lol

Lol I'm speechless..they will work in conflict with each other I believe be pointless waste of time and money ...why bulk diet and take something to loose weight ..it's like getting HGH just to go on a minimal calorie diet or not eat because you want not so big results, lol kind of like anyway

Ya I know that's more less what I assumed I thought it would possibly burn fat well bulking seeing as that is what it does and gaining a bit of fat well bulking is almost inevitable. Was curious if your calories were high enough you could still gain muscle well using Clen to fight any rise in body fat. In theory you could I'm sure you could see what I was thinking might work but if it dosnt then that's that. I asked because I'm bulking soon and wanted to stay as lean as I possibly could. Guess I'll just half to keep my calories really clean.

OK i just read that again... change bulking DIET to Cycle... and the answer is yes... you can put on mass and loss fat at the same time..
This doesn't really make scense thou... you bulk if your skinny.. you cut if you have fat..
You can loss fat and gain muscle at the same time .. but you don't call it a bulking diet you have to change from bulk to lean its all in your terminology ...
you really would need to post all you stats up here...
Diet and excise and instruct every one on exactly what you would like to do ..Last edited by Gym_; 02-21-2012 at 08:36 AM.

I wouldn't bother. The point of a 'bulk' diet is to gain weight/mass. Clen , as you already stated, is generally used to shed bodyfat. If your goal is to try and add lean muscle while losing bodyfat, you'll be fighting an uphill battle unless you're brand new to this. IMO, pick one goal as the primary and focus on that. Clen will not make the difference, but discipline and consistency will.

Last time I bulked my diet was way off. I went from 178 to 200 pounds. Not sure what my body fat was when I started but when I was 200 it was at probably 25 %. Although I didn't get it checked till I cut to 188 in which it was at 19. I've cut since then to 178 and maybe 14-15 %. I will hopefully loose a bit more before I start my bulk. I realize cause I dropped weight so much it wasn't all fat. Probably some water and lean muscle too. I've lost over an inch in my arms and I didnt have that much fat on my arms. Mostly the gut lol. My goal would be to have my bf at 10% before I bulk again but this time I'm going to make sure I keep it clean. A complete strict lean bulk. I know my bf will still rise a bit I just hope not too much. Thought it would be nice to have a little help but I'll just keep it clean and mmonitor everything weekly. I don't want much fat. I don't care how much I weigh. That's just a number. I care how I look. My overal goal would be 200 at 10%. I know i have a long way to go but I'm confident I'll get there! In a month or so I'll be posting my lean bulk diet for you guys to critique. Guess we'll talk again then.
As always thanks for the help!

Gym how much of a surplus do you run? You must have extremely clean calories to be gaining muscle and cutting fat at the same time. Since I've been cutting fat I've personally lost a bit of muscle. I couldn't imagine I would of lost this much fat at a surplus.

I just do Atkins 0 carb diet / Keto ... I posted a article on here about this guy saying you cannot lose weight and gain muscle at the same time... that is total bullshit...
Fat is energy that is in storage, ready to use .. so as long as you are getting heaps of protein, which 0 carb diet basically is and you are not vitamin or mineral deficient there should be no reason why some one cant put on lean muscle and lose BF at the same time ...
Infarct the more muscle you have the more energy your body requires so the more wight you can lose in less time ..
If you weren't gaining muscle mass whilst you were dieting then the biggest bet would be you were not running enough protein which is the building block for muscle growth... that is something that is not stored in fat but also will not make you put on extra body fat as long as it is applied as a part of a Keto diet ..
The other thing that fools ppl is that if you lose half a inch off you ( lets say ) quad.. how do you know that wasn't fat ?

The only way you can effectively or efficiently recomp long term is if you are dramatically out of shape and carrying way too much bodyfat. Keto or not.
Gym I know you love keto and it is working very well for you. However if you continue your journey , depending on your personal goals of course, there will come a time where it will likely not be the most effective option for you. I like CKD myself - situationally. When I started this lifestyle around 20 yrs ago I was horrendously out of shape (300+lbs) - low carb dieting worked for me very well to rapidly lose bodyfat and yes gain some muscle as well. However there came a point based on my condotioning and goals where I realized it was not the be all end all optimal way at all times -even for an insulin resitant endomorph such as myself.
OP clen while bulking will not offer the particular benefits you were possibly envisioning.Last edited by jimmyinkedup; 02-21-2012 at 10:58 PM.

This. Those initial fat loss/muscle gain results will not go on forever... take it from me, I speak from experience. At some point you will need to make one or the other a priority IMO. IF dieting is the closest i've come to seeing both being possible 'at the same time' (not exactly at the same time mind you).

Hey jimmy what is CKD? I've been doing a low carb diet only eating oats I'm the morning pre work out and post work out as well as vegetables through out the day. I've also kept fat intake reasonably low. My protiens been high at over 1.5 times my body weight. I've also been at 800 to 1000 cals deficit of my TDEE. This has worked great for me but I feel that I've now hit somewhat of a plateau. I'm considering other diets. Intermittent fasting is not for me. I know I wouldn't be able to handle it even if I tried. Keto is the same I'd lose my mind having no carbs at all. It's hard enough keeping them as low as I am. I've considered carb cycling but besides that I don't know of any other dieting ideas. Maybe CKD is for me but I have no clue what it is lol. Any other plans you guys could suggest?

CKD = Cyclic Ketogenic Diet. There's a great thread in this section all about it, started by Top. Use the search feature to find it - just search Cyclic Ketogenic Diet and go through the threads until you see the one with *** in the title, and Top is the user who started it.
