How long to force feed?
I'm sure a lot of you have to force feed and I'm wondering how long it takes you to eat a meal when your force feeding? Do you feel bloated when your done? How often do you eat/force feed? Does anyone on here get up at night to eat or have a shake?
How many times do you get up?

yes, i get up around 11pm to eat. bugs the woman cuz it's usually after play time!
i eat 6 or 7 meals a day. they are smaller, every couple of hours, so it doesn't feel like force feeding. the hardest meal is the one after working out.

I like the meal after my workout but I'm cutting so im in a calorie deficit and I'm just getting used to eating every couple of hrs and I' could eat a hoarse after my workout or after 45 min of cardio.

Honestly i believe getting up at night to eat is complete nonsense and the lesser quality of sleep(GH) by far outweighs any potential pros that might be there.
Generally I think the meal frequency dogma of 6-8 a day might work for some, but is over the point where it served as THE dogma and THE (only) way to approach the fitness Lifestyle

After years of force feeding to get big... I stopped.
And guess what... Im bigger than ever.
Its not the gear cuz I havent cycled in forever.
Eat when hungry. Eat till full.
Sleep and lift.
Fill up on protein. Then shove down some carbs and fats.
Be sure to do some cardio to keep yourself hungry.

I agree 100%. Eat a solid, slow digesting meal (beef or the like) close to bedtime, and there's no need to purposely wake up in the middle of the night to eat. Now if you HAPPEN to wake up and you're hungry, then by all means, eat something. But I would never in a million years set an alarm to get up and eat. Insanity!!!
fatty!
lies!!
Yep. If you feel you're having to force feed yourself with frequent feedings (the 6-8 meals mentioned above) which is what I assume you're doing, then switch to less frequent, larger meals. Eating should NOT be a miserable experience, ever.
If you want to stick to more frequent meals because that schedule works for you, and getting enough solid food is the issue, then substitue with protein shakes. I don't mean eat 1 4oz chicken breast every day and get the rest of your protein from shakes (although I have done that too), but if you're lacking protein, have a shake. You surely can get that down, and if you get creative you can have a shake that's really nutritious and still makes use of 'real' food. I have made shakes with egg whites instead of water, cottage cheese blended in, etc. Thick, frothy, and delicious - and i'm not referring to Dukkit's man juice!

Oh and dont be afraid to pig out pwo if youre serious about adding mass.
Sometimes I come home at 6 from the gym, and I start eating. I dont stop until 10pm when I go to bed.

Another point... if youre force feeding and youre not making gains...
you need to bump up something.
Either your macros (adding either carbs, proteins, or fats) Take out some proteins and add some more carbs. Carbs are protein sparing. Or add more carbs only around your workout. (pre and post) Or add more healthy fats. Dont be scared. Theyre good for ya. Or throw in some aminos around your workout too.
Either your training. Lower the volume. Up the intensity. Add some cardio pwo or fasted morning. No better way to get your metabolism up in order to eat more than to do some light walking.
And last but not least... your hormone dose. This needs no explanation.Last edited by Dukkit; 05-03-2012 at 06:04 PM.

Anytime.
Main thing is; and I say this over and over...
experiment.
Try different ways of eating and training.
Keep track of the positives and negatives.
And put all the positives together and you got yourself a solid game plan.

I have a hard time getting and staying asleep. Even with medication. So I keep a shake next to the bed. Thank you all for the advice everyone. I'm dialing in my training yet again. I'm eating more solid meals than normal.
