    calorie consumption

    My goal is to gain about 15-20 lean pounds by summers end. my current weight is 222. i found an old body building diet on the net which is 5000 calories a day spread out between 6 meals throughout the day. Is that to much for my goal or should i aim for a high protein diet?

    theres no way to answer ur question with any degree of accuracy without first knowing ur full stats: age weight height bf%

    more than likely 5000cals is gonna be way too many cals for u

    at 16% if i were u id cut down to 10% before considering a bulk. however if thats what u wanna do ur gonna do better IMO around 3150-3200cals

    read those stickies then come on back and we can continue. i dont know how much u know about dieting but based on ur OP it looks like those stickies will do u some good!

    no way in hell u gonna put on 10lbs of muscle if u are already 222, 16% bf in that time frame gotta be realistic man.
    wanna post up a pic? sorry for being optimistic but i'm not sure how you could have achieved those stats without knowing how to diet

    Lol I got pretty big i'm just a couple years without any real dieting knowledge. I believe his stats. But to the OP you gotta get the basics of dieting down before you can make any real gains

    I can post a pic some time tomorrow after work. I do know how to diet I just never tried to gain as quickly. I'm not new to working out but I've always had solid frame since my high school football days
