Looking for some insight. I read a while ago that Arnold used to eat an entire chicken and drink a pitcher of beer after every workout. Has anyone else heard or read this anywhere? The reason I ask is bc I personally like to end my day with a 6 pack. While it doesn't seem to be affecting my progress so far, do you think it will further down the line once I get below 15% bf? Should I only treat myself with a tasty beverage only during bulking? Or lay off the booze altogether?

I used to be against it because of the sugar and calories but anymore I need a few beers to get through the week.

A 6 pack a day? That's a lil excessive bro, but in reality, do whatever makes you happy

I made the desision not to drink about 2 years ago and I feel great for it, mind you I was a bad drinker, borderline alco so it was a desision I had to make, I think it comes down to how much the lifestyle means too you, if it is purely recreational then sure enjoy a few drinks if that makes you happy, but personally for me I can't bring myself to do it, it has no place in my life I'm at my happiest in the gym and seeing my results I can jepodise that, my diet is tuned to the calorie, I can't go wasting precious calories and sugar and alcohol, alcohol contains 7 cals a gram + if you're drinking you're missing out I either training or rest of a good meal, to answer your question it's all about the importance you place on your training for me it is everything so my answer is no

Finishing every and each day with a 6 pack will most certainly hurt your progress on multiple levels.

A friend of mine who has a kinesiology has indeed told me that drinking on a regular basis can and will affect your workout quality for up to 5 days afterwards. This is a lifestyle change, you must devote yourself to it, there is nothing wrong with treating yourself from time to time. However, if your are running any cycle that has an affect on the liver I would suggest not drinking at all. Your liver is taking enough stress at that point. Your causing more harm to your body then anything.

Let me rephrase, I don't finish every single day with a 6 pack, but some days, most days is about 2 or 3. I probably made this post sound way worse than it could've been

I appreciate the feedback and have definitely learned a little but from all you guys. Ill definitely be cutting the beer out if my diet from here on out. Thanks guys

Totally agree - bodybuilding is a LIFESTYLE - this means limiting the amount of alcohol you consume. I treat myself, but just rarely. Most of the time, if I'm hanging out with friends who happen to be drinking, I'm the sober one. And I'm okay with that.
