    Any vegetarian BB out there?

I have my first comp in about 6 weeks. I have been a vegetarian for over 25 years. I have been told I might have to eat white fish in the last few weeks before comp which would be a tough decision to make. Thoughts?

Why would anybody have to eat anything? Who told you this, and what's the rationale?

If what you've been doing thus far is bringing you the desired results, why change? If it ain't broke....

PS - that's not to say tweaking your diet/training when you're a couple weeks out isn't necessary - but to change the foods you're eating? Sounds like bs to me.

There was a documentary in the UK recently about a glamour model turned bodybuilder. It was about her contest prep.

She had been a vegetarian for 20ish years and her trainer had insisted she move onto fish instead of her protein shakes. Bless her, she tried to choke it down and gagged and gagged and cried and got extremely emotional.

She didn't eat the fish and, although didn't win her comp she placed.

    I agree 100% with you!

I do not eat meat what so ever and am doing just fine!
I may not compete but thats just because i dont have any care to, I see guys smaller than me or just looking kinda crappy in my opinion and they eat meat, and then go to tell me I NEED TO EAT MEAT TO GAIN MUSCLE?!?!? hahahaha
    NO way!

this (CRAPPY pic btw) is from about 2-3 years ago -->

have done a bit better and plan to add on still another 20-30lb before in done. hover around 225 at 5'7" am i all that? no, but i sure as hell look better then half the people i see lifting in the gym with their muscle shirts and noodle arms at the 120lb bench.... but they eat steak so... ya know.... they will eb buff because thats what matters.... :-/

so don't fall for NEEDING to eat meat or fish i hear that bullshit all the time. make sure you add extra b-12 to your diet through supps since out diet lack that for sure.
add in lots of good fats even pre-contest! carbs you gotta watch ofcourse, you want to be full, but not bloated. a tip, mega dose vitC 5-8g ed for the last week before contest (atleast a couple days before) healthy safe way to lose a bit extra water.

Can you eat eggs? If so egg whites could be an option with protein shake and cottage cheese.

Very impressive Juced. Not to derail this thread, but curious as to a rough breakdown of your diet, as well as the OP's.

The feedback I've been given is that tofu and meat substitutes might not allow me to get as dry as I want. Apparently that's where the white fish comes in.
I heavily rely on egg whites 40 a day. I eat a meat substitute made from soya, wheat gluten and soy isolate. The wheat may make me hold water closer to the comp.I've cut out tofu due to the conversion to oestrogen.
I'm going to try my best to walk on stage as a veggie!
