Can Diet Cause Wake Up in the Night?
Hey guys,
So I've been keeping a steady diet of 6 meals a day every 1 - 2 hours and during last 3 - 4 months I've been waking up at the middle of the night like 2 - 3 AM,
at first I would go sleep after drinking some water, then I needed to get some fruit and eventually nothing would help and I would just stay up half of the night.
I went to do all tests with doctors like endo, pcp, etc. and they all said everything was fine, but getting only 4 hours of sleep per night kinda sucks.
Do you think it might be diet related and what to do about it?

Have you considered the possibility of your condition not being physiological?
-
yea my doc thought it might be depression related so they put me on Prozac for a cpl months with no results

I take amp wheybolic extreme it's just a protein with some amino acids that speed up digestion and leuticine and a bunch of stuff like multi vitamins.
I tried stopping taking it for a couple of weeks it didn't help though.

Try consuming 3 larger meals per day every 4ish hours and have a really decent meal before bed...
Or just go back to how you used to eat when you were not waking up in the night?
Has the waking up come since you started your 'bro' diet (6 meals a day)?

idk really I don't remember what my diet was back then if I have a large protein heavy meal at least 3 hours before bed I can't fall asleep though is that normal?

hmm that's weird do you think it might be the amino acids in side the protein powder screwing with my digestive system?

ok so I tried not taking any protein shake after my workout and consuming 2 chicken breasts instead of 3 yesterday and I still woke up, but this time I felt sleepier than usual. Normally when I take 2 40g servings of protein and 3 chicken breasts daily I feel extremely alert when I wake up at midnight like I'm ready to go.
What could this mean?
