    Female TDEE

Does the lbm x 15 = tdee work for females as well as males or is it a different formula?

lbm x 15 is a rough starting point that will need adjusting once you get to know your metabolism better.

now, I'm "assuming" it's the same rough starting point regardless of gender. Maybe gbrice can set the record straight?

Thanks. I couldn't find anything that says it's different between the sexes but not sure. I'm going to set up a plan for the wife. She seems to like what I've done with me so far!

I don't think there is any difference the theory I think behind it is that every pound of lean body mass burns a certain amount of calories per minute, per hour what have you and that why lbmx15 if just a rough start because people's bodies don't all burn at this "projected" rate, I could be wrong but Im pretty sure that the idea behind it.

Definitely a rough guide but yes, can be used for girls too.

You will need to factor in their activity level too.

Macro split/protein requirements are also different. They definitely don't need as much protein as men think they do. No more than 1.2g per lean lb. and fats can be higher. But that would partly depend on their goals.

Everyone is a little different. I tend to do better with x 13 for myself. My metabolism sucks btw.
