    Sugar carbs

Is there any reason I should keep these low in my diet?
I'm looking over my usual diet (keep in mind that I'm bulking at the moment) and I'm takin in 450g of carbs a day. Mostly complex carbs but about 80-100 of those carbs come from like either bananas, oatmeal squares ( snack on them thru the day) or from traces carbs from the other foods I eat.
Would that many sugar carbs hold me back in any way from my goal?

it depends on your diet. how much do you weigh and what are your total cals, BF%? what are the percentages of your protein, Carbs and fats intake?

185lbs. Protein 300grams. Carb 450. Fat fluctuate between 70-90. (Not the leanest bulk lol). And bf% I'm bad a guesstimating but I'd say 16-18%

No I aim for 450 total carbs. But on my diet pal. If says (like today for example) 86 sugar carbs.

I think for bulking 450 g carbs are fine, but i'd stay away from high GI and high GL foods.

High gi? High GL? Still learning that's high glycemic correct? And why would you stay away from them? And yes I have a very active job I need that many carbs. I wasn't seeing the results I wanted till I upped them.

yes correct. while low GI carbs keeps your blood sugar steady, high GI carbs will spike your insulin and aid with fat gain. that's why I stay away from it, if any I might eat it post workout, and that's the only time.

Ok so I have a very active job. If I eat them while I'm busting my a$$ at work. Would it have the same effect as eating them post workout. In the case of rest days from the gym.

Big difference between how the body handles sugar and fructose. I split them up in my Macros as fructose will be used up almost instantly but that damn sugar I stay as far away from as possible.

    Thanks

Not to change the subject bit I wouldn't be bulking at 18% Bf. Means street bulk you will be,20 plus.that's a long way from being in shape. Maybe your goals are different just throwing it out there

I was guessing. I seen the body fat chart you guys offer to gauge bf% but even with that its hard to tell exactly. I feel comfortable saying around the 16% maybe lower. Thanks for the insight tho.

Ok. I took this pic today. Maybe someone can give me a better estimate of bf%. Keep in mind however I don't work abs.... At all. What ever hardness is in my midsection is basic core strength that was probably because of squats exercises etc.

Ok thanks for the giving my picture a look. I'm fairly new to this whole 'bodybuilding' lifestyle. What's the best way to measure body fat? We used calipers in high school... But that was over 10 years ago. Is that still the best thing to do?
