    water consumption

I posted this in the lounge and didn't get many responses. How much water do you guys and gals consume on a daily basis? I had to do a 24 hr urine capture recently and the dr was concerned with the amount of urine produced, 2 gallons. I drink 2-2.5 gallons per day and don't drink any other beverages. Sometimes juice but usually just water.

1 gallon. Should be plenty for just about anyone.

Dose the amount of water you drink affect the amount of water your body holds or dose it just get rid of what it needs?

My urine calcium level was high again as well, but blood calcium in the 9's like it's supposed to be. Dr thinks I might have another parathyroid adenoma, had one removed last year. More BW coming.

You're drinking about twice as much water as your body requires, so you're going to urinate about 3X as much.

Days when I am off work & typically do stuff around the house inside with the A/C on I put down a about 3/4 of a gallon of water & about 1/2 gallon of green tea. Work days when most of the time I'm out in the hot weather I'll put down almost 2 gallons of water sometimes more. Work days when I am sweating all freaking day I sweat most of it out since I don't urinate more frequently than I do on non-work days.

If your urine is clear & doesn't smell bad then you are drinking enough water.

I drink a gallon or more a day. It's not all water I drink a lot of Gator Ade cause I love it. I urinate extremely often but my age and prostrate contributes to the frequency.

Leaning with Cardio , water in constitutes water out and I can lose more weight, water bloat and fat tissue. ...crazy mike

Not sure how much, but the only liquids I drink are water and coffee, and protein powder in water.

I drink a gallon + a day. What are your stats? What is your daily activity? If your sweating it out or burning it off keep going if not.

2.5 gallons ED seems a bit excessive to me. I have always drank one gallon a day, sometimes a little more. I always felt that was adequate.

No kidding. You must have a hump or two to drink that much.

Over consumption of water (polydipsia) can lead to a dangerous condition called hyponatremia. This can lead to serious and dangerous symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, muscle cramps, and in extreme cases, seizures and coma.

As a general guideline, if your urine is clear, colorless, and odorless and you are voiding (urinating) an average of every 2-3 hours, you are consuming enough water.

I'm pretty active and only go over 2 gallons if doing cardio. I also drink one protien shake on top of the water. I think some of it is to help me stay alert I work nights. Probuild my stats are 5'9" 180 down to 12% BF. I just seem thirsty all of the time especially if I take allergy meds which I had to start again recently. Urination frequency is once every hour to 1.5 hours and clear. Bonaparte I'll check out the fluid balance. Every since I has my hernia repaired last year it's been one thing after another. Parathyroid adenoma, tendonitis, possible prostatitus, urethritis, and stones. Somethings going on for sure I've got another draw coming up testing PTH with calcium intact and a slew of everything from STD tests to lyme disease.
