    11pm workout last meal advice.

    Alright guys.

Im looking to start dieting again. Having been out of the gym for a while Im looking to shred a few lbs.

Due to changes in work im often working out at 10pm or sometimes 11pm. Then having my last meal 30mins or so after training. Will carbs this late at night hinder gains in weight loss. Not used to this late workout. People seem to generally avoid carbs so late at night, I crave them.

Does this matter? Would I be making error not having carbs after workout, just before sleep?

My last meal of the day has the most carbs of any meal I eat. Just hit your macro's.

    Carbs after a workout? Yes.
Carbs if you work out earlier in the day? I'd probably hold back.

Just make sure you are getting good carbs, obviously. Don't be chugging the jug of koolaid.

Objectively, my breakfast meal has the most carbs of any meal of the day. That's just what breakfast is, you are breaking the fast of sleeping. You've been asleep without food intake for 8 hours, you need the carbs to fuel your day. I spike my carb intake again before working out, and then let my carb intake taper as the day goes along.

You'll be fine, meal timing isn't as important as hitting your totals for the day

I workout from 11 to about 1 once cardio is complete and I always have my post workout meal. If I'm tired enough, I'll at least have two or three scoops of whey. I'm cutting and this hasn't affected me one bit.

Concentrate on hitting macros and giving your body the ability to recover overnight and into the next day. Maybe look into a good BCAA powder and drink that immediately after your workout mixed with Gatorade or a substituted juice mix (you will need something other than water to mix with it). Then 30 mins after, have a normal pro/carb meal before bed. This is as good as it gets for the guys that workout and then hit the sack. Recovery occurs all hours day/night so stay on point all day.
