How does this HRT program sound?

I'm in my fifties and after 2 heavier test and deca cycles have decided to do a year round HRT program. Does 100 to 125 mg test/week with .25 arimidex eod what many are doing? Is anybody doing HRT with more than 125/week? I also have HCG . Is 250iu's/week enough? I really don't want to do twice per week shots or is 500/week an alternative? Thx

How much you take and what you need and how much you take depends on your blood tests. My E2 levels are low even on higher dossages of T we are all different.

My test level is 230 ng/dl. What about the arimidex and hcg ?

Arimidex is generally no needed for HRT. The reason is because we are not using abnormally high doses of test. We are using just enought to get back to high-normal. If your estrogen levels get too high after a while that may be another story.

Most guys use 250iu of hcg 2 times a week to keep the nuts working and for a little added natural test.

Is that the only time you think an AI would be needed...ONLY IF ESTRO WAS HIGH?...and does estro usually go up when test is increased...like I heard if I started using 300EW...would estro most likely rise, or does it go back to every person is different? And I think this pertains to this thread as well....When ppl use the term shut you down....that means...you stop producing your own test, right? and does this happen at only higher doses of extraneous(injecting, orals, gels)? I was under the impression that even my small doses with the gel was going to do that anyway? And does that mean shut down forever?

I think the HRT program will vary by the person and your goals. To me, the 100ew seems more like a fairly conservative, traditional approach. Many of the anti-aging docs use, or are at least willing to consider, far more aggressive treatments in an attempt to "optimize" instead of just "restore".

I am now on 300mg test-e ew, 500iu HCG 5/2, 2iu HGH 5/2, .5mg arimidex ed, and pregnenolone/DHEA cream. At 38, as recently as 4-5 years ago I have documented that my natural total test used to run in the 1600-1800 range - this is roughly twice the upper limit of most "normal" scales. Something happened last August - still trying to determine what - that dropped me to the mid 200s. While I can't set 1600 total test as a goal, I knew that I needed an approach that would be suited to "making me - me again" - a naturally high-t guy - as opposed to just bumping my numbers a bit.

For most guys most of the nasty sides for t start to really kick in above 300mg/ew - though usually for everyone by 500-600.

The way it was expalined to me was that some test is converted to estrogen in the body. To some extent that is normal as men's bodies require some estrogen. Now when you take large amounts of test (enough to put you beyond what is considered "normal") you could also elevate your estrogen beyond what is normal as well.

As far as being shut down. There are posts all over from guys who had levels in the low 300's and the dr puts them on androgel 5's and 3 months later their levels are in the 100's. So it appears that even in lower doses the body will stop producing test sooner or later.

As far as shutting you down forever, I don't know. I am sure time has something to do with it. If you are on hrt for 20 years nonstop, your chances of producing your own again are probably slim and none. For guys who REALLY have low test, that is not an issue. Because why the hell would the want to stop and feel like crap again?

the 2 times i had my test levels checked before HRT were 275, 298 and had all the sympt of Low T so i started with the gel(5mg) and like you said ...level
dropped to 140...then I took 10mg and finally achieved a level that i was thinking would be a minimum for me(785) and thought all along that I would be on 4 life...
