Water retention on TRT, need advice

I've been on TRT for about 8 months (200 mgs Test C per week, no pct) I drink plenty of water and my workout routine consists of 25 min cardio in the AM and weight lifting and 25 min cardio in the PM. I lift 3 days on one day off.

Recently I've started to retain a lot of water weight and was wondering what the best way is to combat the retention? I'm also concerned about testicle shrinkage and gyno (But no syptoms yet.)

I read a lot of information on PCT and HCG for cycle usage but not a lot of info for additions to your TRT.

My Endo is not really experianced with the whole subject of PCT in aiding the HRT treatment and I don't want to come off as looking for more meds so I haven't talked to him about it yet.

Any suggestions you have would be great.

PS my TRT was not cycle related because I never used any form of enhauncement outside of simple over the counter stuff.

You need to get your doc to get you some Arimidex . Start with .25mg eod and see how that works for you. This was also my doctor's mistake as he didnt check my E2 levels and next thing you know I ended up with gyno. Took about 6 weeks to get rid of it running Letrozole and it wasnt fun with all the side effects Letro has.

So get on the Arimidex quick. I would go with the liquid version as its much cheaper. Just get you a slin pin to measure it out.

Sometimes a switch from test cyp to test e or vice versa helps with water retention. Arimidex is a powerfull drug. Make sure your estrogen levels are actually high before starting it so get a blood test.

Check your blood pressure too as it may be getting high due to the water retention.

Yeah the blood pressure had some spikes in it that stayed high for a few hours then dropped down when the swelling went down. (It comes and goes usually I can feel it in my hands.) Usually my BP is on the normal side because of the cardio and diet I eat.

I had another person suggest low dosage of Femara at .25 every other day. (That would mean I'd have to cut a 2.5 tablet 8 times (wow).

Since I'm staying on TRT I need to find a happy mix. Another person I read was using Deca at 150 mg a week for some of the estrogen concerns.

So much information to digest it's not easy to find a hard and fast rule. Thanks for the assistance and keep the advice coming.

I'm doing what you just stated 200mg Test 150mg Deca(withoutan AI)....and will be getting my estro results back soon ....I will post here as well as my thread when I get em
....on that dose for almost 3 weeks my test levels were around 1000...

that's interesting what spyke said about switching from e to c to combat water retention....anyone else try this and or have success with this water retention approach?

I am still new to HRT (just a little over 4 months) gel first now test cyp...
when i first got my vial and pins i started at 200mg for the 1st week....and i thought i would notice gains fast since i had exo test in my system already from the gel and i didn't and in my impatience I added a 100 a week up to 400test all by itself...no deca ...no estro blocker....still only slight gains (mind you diet prob only 80% clean and not a lot of protein) since I'm really only looking for a boost in LBM to increase metabolism....so i did blood while on 300mg and found my test levels were nice and high but estro went way up to 65.....so I bought a otc estro block product and lowered my test to 200....now i'm out of the estro block but added deca....so that's where i'm at 200mg test/150mg deca.....My thought process was I could get a better anabolic effect with the deca without the extra test converting to estro....and learned here that deca would bring my test levels down and deca was shown to relieve rotator cuff issues/joints....so i here i am at 3 weeks on that dose...still slight gains....i keep saying slight but they are consistent so it won't be long if i keep chuggin
and i did get relief with nagging rotator cuff soreness since starting the deca...i swear it almost feels like my tendonitis is trying to heal...i'll have new estro results to share prolly this week.

Definitly try switching for Test C to Test E Test C does have a reupation for causeing bloat in some people. Also arimidex will help the bloat but you need to make sure you dont drop your Estrogen levels to low. As Spyke says get a blood test and adjust the dose accordingly. I would think that 0,25mg EOD would be a good start without hurting your estrogen to much

What about Femara? I've been reading that many people have great results on it at a lower dose. And it's also a lot cheaper.

I would highly recommend adding a product from MHP called "Up Your Mass." I take it three times a day (total calories = 1500), and it has allowed me to add 6 pounds of muscle in 4 weeks. I also recently added Arimidex to my protocol at the same time that I started the mass building shake. Over the last 4 weeks, my weight has gone from 196 to 202 pounds and my body fat has dropped from 16.8 to 9.2 percent. By the way, I am taking 100 mg/wk Test C and 200 mg/wk Deca. In addition, I take 500 units hcg three times a week. My T levels have often shot up beyond 1800, forcing me to skip injections for a couple of weeks.

I love those shakes man...couldn't afford them for a while let alone even good whole food proteins like fish...freezer full of tilapia and salmon now.

It looks like you are able to have your bloodwork/levels looked at often and being monitored well...THAT'S GREAT...were you uncomfortable with your test levels being so high or more so the doctor? Just always curious at where the doctors heads are these days

Well im in 16 days in my TRT, 200mg of test E every 2 weeks. Im 19 and my levels were pretty darn low. I was concerened about developing gyno and I dont think I have any symptoms as of yet, although I did ask her about arimidex . She told me the anti-e would counteract with my test levels and I shouldnt take it. I havent really noticed too much of a body composition change yet and I havent found my overall mood to change much either, still a bit sleepy. What should I do, should I get more bloodwork, different endo, request upping the doseages? Anything OTC I could possibly get to help me out. My weight stayed about the same although I feel a bit more lean and my diet is pretty intact. Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but im feeling some of the same symptoms.

There is some excellent advice from these posters. I've been on HRT
for a year and a half. I think that arimidex and E2 or estrogen
blood work is something that will almost solve the shrinkage problem. When you take any drug or hormone for an extended period of time
your system gets used to it. I decided to stop my HRT program for
a couple of months. I'm going on a vacation for a month to central
america. I stopped everything but test about 8 weeks ago. I stopped
test 15 days ago. No HCG, nothing but arimidex I feel great. I was
taking GH for a year and a half. I am actually loosing weight. I think
it is because I don't drink all those 300 calorie protien shakes any
more. I will be drinking champagne and french wine. 3 weeks will
be on a cruise ship. I wonder if my bar bill will be higher than my
    test, gh, ect. bill.

My doctor was very uncomfortable with the 1800 numbers. Also, my homocysteine (a marker for artery damage) level increased signficantly (from a low value to the upper limit of the reference range) and C-Reactive Protein (a marker for inflammation) went from a mid-range value to a level that far exceeds the upper limit. I appreciate any feedback from other members.

I would like to remain at high levels, but I don't want to damage my health. I don't think that my dosages are too high. After all, 100 mg/week is a standard dose used to bring the T level of an average guy into the 600 to 800 range. Deca , of course, does not increase total T, but I believe that it indirectly increase free T by lowering SHBG.

At 5'11, 202 pounds (9.2% BF), I am starting to look quite large, especially in the upper body (46 inch chest , 16.5 arms, 33 waist). Several people at work have commented that I look "buf." It is rather ironic that it look a serious illness to get me where I am today.

P.S. I also added a product from MHP called "N.O. Explode." I get incredible pumps and surges of energy when I take this product. It gives me an around- the-clock "pumped up" look. My motivation, concentration, and strength are elevated beyond belief when I take this product. Check it out ....

You've got a great doctor there...sounds like you 2 have a great doctor/patient relationship where it is a team effort in regards to your health....
thanks for reminding me about the heart values...i had just recently got a full checkup with a heart doc/surgeon. I wanted to test everything that I could while having the insurance and knowing that my maternal ancestors have bad hearts...well, I passed with flying colors but it is official I have the high lipo protein A that confirms with having the genetic trait from my mother's side. So, I have to make sure everything else is in check and the last bloodwork I had my uro was concerned about high hemocrit/hemoglobin/rbc....i was told I could give blood to bring those figures back to normal so i need to get on that but prolly wouldn't be a bad idea to check out the heart again including the proteins you mentioned.

    take care
