Just started TRT Im 47 and blood had me at total test 140.
My doc put me on what I thought was 200mg test cyp every two weeks but when I picked up my prescription it was for 200mg every week. Does that sound right for starting? Anyway first injection went well by third day woke up with wet dream and on fourth day had morning wood. Definate changes taking place. I decided to go with the 200mg a week and did second injection two days ago.
Woke up yesterday felt like shit. Anxiety and felt tight in the rib area my testicles felt like a hand was squeezing them all day. Felt like my prostate was swolen when I urinated. Also feel like I would ejaculate with no wood if my tool was rubbed. Also felt tired all day. These feelings starting to subside today a day later. I noticed also that Im bloating around my neck and waist area. What is going on? Should I back off to
100mg a week or wait even longer? Miss the morning wood.

Yes I'd say that 200mg a week for starters was a bit high but I'm sure you'll get plenty of good input on this in this forum. Also, I 've never heard of Test cyp working that fast and I've never had any of the symptoms you mentioned so better wait until you hear from some more members. I'd say 100mg a week would be better for starting HRT and if necessary up it a little bit at a time, i.e. in steps over a period of time, e.g. 100-150-200. "What ever works, works!"

200 a week is fine, fairly typical for anti-aging docs, high for most endos. This does seem like a quick response, though if it could be "test flu" I don't know how long that takes to manifest.

How can you feel your prostate getting swolen


Do you pee alot more then normal ? Wake up multi times in the middle of the night to pee ?

I think some of this might be in your head. 200mg is a normal dosage.

agree with vermin about traditional doc vs. hrt doc when concerning doses but either way it's good that you got more and you can take what you want and have more later....about the great 1st week.....i remember when starting trt i had androgel and responded also quickly...but you say the poor symptoms have subsided but now no spontaneous erection. I don't need to wake up pitching a tent to feel like the test is working....as long as i got lumber when i approach the plate
as far as the bloat...have you discussed AI's with your doctor....i never had bloat, but my estro did skyrocket when starting injections and got on 'dex asap.

Thanks for the responses. When I posted this I was pretty concerned over the weird reactions I was having. I thought maybe my starting dose was too high but per vermin and jpkman that doesnt seem the cause.
It's been 18 hours since I first posted this and slowely everything has returned to normal and I feel fine. dsm4life trust me this was not in my head, and ref the prostate, when I had to pee I could hardly get a stream to flow. It was about 1/3 normal and would take forever.
Vermin I never heard of a test flu, whats that? Anyway caus everything seems normal now I decided to keep my next dose at 200mg and then see if I have any weird reactions again. That wont be till next Monday.
I cant wait to get my test levels up as fast as I can to get back to normal as fast as I can.
Hey mobligator thanks for the welcome. I'll watch to see if anybody else has had weird reactions and into a AI. I wonder if estro could be the culprit. Maybe my body has been without test for so long it was a gag reflex haha. I'll post what happens next time I inject.
