    Water retention and Bloating

Has anyone here experienced water retention from HRT using just 100mgs/week? I know arimidex /liquidex, letro, aromisan, etc. can combat this, but how much did your Doc start you out with? How long were you on HRT before you started bloating? Did you have to adjust the dosage up or down? Sorry if this has been asked before, but I never found a specific answer. I'm just getting ready to start HRT, and this is something that has been on my mind. Thanks for any replies.

I started bloating right away. The water retention decreased when I stared using an AI. I also lowered my dose to a little under 100 mg per week at Dr.'s advice based on blood tests. Am now drinking large quantities of water and that helps. I have also lost about 20 lbs since I started and that helps also.

I never really noticed any at 300/week, so it is highly individual. Of course, I was on .5 aramidex EOD from the start. Seems like most of us with depressed T have high E, so some sort of anti-E is nearly always warranted.

I been on 200mg test cyp a week for seven weeks, I was severe hypogonadal and didnt know it till I really went to crap. Right off the start bloating really bad and holding water. I tried to get arimidex through my doc and he turned me down, didnt say no just didnt know enough about adding it to test cyp to be comfortable . At week six I got liquidex cause I hated the way I felt with the bloat. Did 1mg a day for four days and about day four or five I deflated. Feel really great been lifting weights since week three on the test and after four to five days on the dex I feel way different.....an improvement. Feel like musle is reacting to the weights and getting harder. Pissing better. I think estrogen was wreaking havoc on me and negating some of the positive effects of the test cyp. About day two after injecting really didnt like the way I felt my nuts would ache and hard time pissin, people think Im nuts but it felt like my prostate was swelling. Didnt have that this time around while on the dex. It is doing something that feels positive. Im going to taper down on the dex cutting the dose in half then skippin days till I find a sweet spot. My doc was talking of cutting my test dose down also so I'll try and adjust fire when the time comes. From my reading and experience everybody reacts different to test. Some have more of a reaction with estrogen than others and it blocks some of the positive effects of the test.....liquidex worked big time for me as of now will see long term. Sorry for being so winded...I hate to keep talkin bout me but I'm on week seven and when I started I wanted to know what others were feelin...Im gonna make my own post to update as today my balls shrunk..

Petroly....again, thaks for your reply. Like you, I like to read about others experiences with HRT. It sort of gives you a gauge or guide on what to expect. I'll be looking forward to reading about your experience into HRT.

from what I read, Aromasin eliminates estrogen permantly..or at least it takes the receptors a long time to recover. Is this true? and How do you feel on this CMRBB? AGAIN..THANKS

It prevents the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. The idea is to take a dose sufficient to prevent excess conversion, while allowing enough estrogen to be produced to maintain good health. I take a small daily dose and it is not enough to completely shut down estrogen conversion. You need some estrogen for libido and other normal functions.

Most figure estrogen of around 15-20 is optimal for a male. Many are 4X+ that amount without some sort of aromatase inhibitor or similar.

Thanks Vermin....is having bloodwork the only way to know your E levels? Also..do most men over 40 have higher than optimal E levels?

hey fb...actually, the AI is supposed to reduce the estro and raise your test and my new family doc said that he is going to do JUST that...cuz his test levels were pretty good but estro was a little high

    have you started yet?
