    What should I do?

About a year ago I was diagnosed as having low test levels and started TRT by my endo. I ended up giving myself weekly injections at around 75mg/ew. In July I moved to another state and went off the injections. I ordered some nolva/clomid to help get my natural test back to where it was, even though it wasn't much!

Well, today I went to my family dr (nurse practioneer) and she said they can do the treatment there at the office. However, she could only do 1 monthly injection of 200mg. I told her to go ahead and check my levels so they took some blood and they are supposed to call me back tomorrow with the results.

Since I have BC/BS of Alabama, I was going to call an HRT clinic (prior site sponsor???) and see if my insurance would reimburse me 80%. As I got to reading, the HRT clinic has had some recent problems and now I am really sceptical.

Here's my question, am I better off going to my local dr where they are going to "cap" how much they will give me or try a different, but reputable, HRT clinic? If anyone wants to recommend another HRT clinic, please PM me!

Would it be too much to ask you who that might be? I was also wondering how much I am looking at spending...I do not have a clue???

i would try your local doc first and try to convince to self administer that way you will have access to the vial yourself...if you exhaust all attempts then go from there

What is so important about having access to the vial? Administering the injections weekly as opposed to monthly or is it the quantity of test that I would have access to?

    The weekly.

Dude 200mg a week is a sorry start. It's a safe start but a bad one IMO. Doctors do this to be safe but damn.... 200mg a MONTH? I just don't think you'll feel a damn thing from it.

the answer to your question is all of the above...JMO...if you want to go to the doc for every shot then have at it or if they won't let you then you don't have a choice either...it was just my best suggestion...you have to ultimately make your own decision

I think for anyone in the medical field, in this day and age of information, to suggest ONE injection ONCE a month at 200mg is borderline criminal.

You're test levels will drop like a rock about day 10 and you'll be worse off than before you got the injection.

I helped another TRT patient (A friend of my sister) get more regular injections by presenting some of the information on this site.

It makes NO SENSE having a patient take a substance with a half life of 7 days and use it once a month?

Another case where testosterone gets a stereo typical response from an uninformed DR. Too bad football and baseball had to screw the legitimate use of a needed treatment.

    Find a new Dr bro.

this actually has me thinking about my family doctor that i rave about so much because he took over my TRT from my endo and basically wrote refills based on my good looking blood work. He kept the script the same as it was under my endo which is only 200mg every 3 weeks BUT is self administer and do what i want every week but he did not question the fact that i am feeling good and having good results with the infrequent prescribed dose. Since I use the doctor as a tool in my health, I will just let things be
