How low is low enought to start on hrt?

How low is low enought to start on hrt?

I have had test levels for the past 7 years at 426 and lower, at one time it was 220, last I checked it was 311.

So basically it has flucuated from between 220 to 430. I am only 33 right now.

Just wondering if I should become a lifer and inject often, not cycle often, just every two weeks.

    Your opinons welcome.

I think you should go by feel first than blood levels next....the worse you feel the lower the test. Once you get to a point that you feel crapy and test levels dont come up no matter what pct you take and how long between cycles than its time for hrt--but hrt shuts you down worse so have to be willing to go the long term--dont do it till you have to

    What is your symptoms anyways?

How long have you been off cycle when these tests were taken?

Did you get any other tests like Estradiol, or Free test done when getting Total Test results?

What reference range were they using?

Yeah, your Doc is cool. Test plus Deca ! I am still searching. Last urologist wouldn't do anything for me. His office is filled with 70+ year olds, so he had no mercy on me. Let us know your Free Test numbers.

One of my tests is unaccounted for, I cant find it.

Been off cycle over 2 years now.

First and only cycle was from april 2005 to the somewhere in july 2005.
It consisted of 400mg of testosterone enanthate each week split into shots a week.
Followed it up with clomid and nolva-the cookie cutter pct dose.

symptoms? And have you always had these symptoms, or did they begin right after your cycle?

Test levels look pretty low even before your cycle.

What's your diet like, do you drink a lot of achohol, carry a lot of fat?

symptoms have always included being pretty tired, unmotivated, low libido, some belly fat, not a lot but no six pack.

Started having these symptoms since 01 when I first started getting checked out.

At one time the dr put me on cream and that just pissed me off, sure it made me feel a bit better, but it only raised it a little bit and was a hassle so I stopped it.

    Felt good on cycle.

After that levels came back to where they were before which was low 300's.

Oh and diet... I tend to eat pretty healthy but not super good.

At one time I even did atkins and felt stronger and healthier, but grew tired of it.

Im not a fat ass by anymeans and yes back in the day I was an alcohol weekend warrior.
    Not anymore though.

Gooroo, At least your levels returned to what they were before cycle. You did not shut down, probably from a good pct. On the other hand it looks like your ready for hrt with better doctor. Until then you might want to cycle test E or cyp if it worked for you.

Sounds like your a prime candidate for HRT. Nothing I can see that's that bad, unless you've been ***riving yourself of sleep for 6 years.

Some guys get away with lowering their Estrogen, to bump up their testsoterone, but your estrogen doesn't really look terible. the goal is 10-30 PG/ML with 20 being ideal. Your at 29, so not a huge difference.

Here's a study on controlling estrogen http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 . Although some people I've talked to got different results, mean estradiol went from 27 to 17pg/ml in the study, bumping test up from 343 to 572, and free test from 99 to 207.

One guy I've talked to had his Estradiol go from 43 to 22 on just 0.1mg arimidex per day, test from 400 to 800, and free test from 30-93. Potent
    stuff.

Should be pretty telling that the title of the study was "Effects of Aromatase Inhibition in Elderly Men with Low or Borderline-Low Serum Testosterone Levels " And your levels are right around theirs at 31.

If you go straight on TRT then make sure you get a doctor that checks Estradiol when you get tested, and is comfortable prescribing arimidex, as you might develope high estrogen symptoms while on T. Also make sure they prescribe hCG along with T. I posted this in a couple other threads but here it is.

    Good luck bro

Barry Bonds just hit another home run --yea for the gel--the govt will be chasing him again

1000 people died today due to cigs and how many houses were broken into for meth money?---point of this is its harder to get a perscription for test to help you feel better than it is to get an addictive pain killer and the govt dont have anything better to do(like stop cigs and bad drugs) than watch a baseball game looking for people hitting too many homers

Gooroo, I had the same issues some time ago. Back in my 30's the libido was gone, I felt tired and test was low. Doctor refused to do anything. I got the "its low normal" BS talk. I am now 43 and my test is up at 600-700 range. I am in the gym and maxing out all my lifts. I cycle every now and then which helps build some more mass. But mostly I changed my life style and it had a HUGE impact. What did I do?

    1st - I divorced my complaining wife
2nd - I met a great girl and my sex drive increased overnight
3rd - I started going out and enjoying life again
4th - Hit the gym like a wildman
5th - Watched the diet close (to look good)

That 1st point changed everything. I lost my ass in the divorce but gained so much more. This may not be part of your problem, but it was mine. It is amazing how your mental state can influence your well being.

TheSential, I hear ya bro, I got rid of the practice wife a long time ago and now Im with a real winner. Right now if I had a choice of winning a mega jackpot Lotto or retaining the wife I have now, its a no brainer to choose the wife, she is amazing, and priceless.

practice wife lol. It's sounds like you are ready for HRT. You can try a few supplements to boost your own test. Zinc is suppose to help.

I'd try another 2 month cycle to see how you feel. If it's working stay on it longer.

My total test levels were at 180 last time I went to the doc and Im 31 years old. I never had any sexual problems or even problems gaining muscle, but my energy levels were in the toilet and my mood swings sucked. i currently take test cyp. and hgh. So far my insurance has paid for everything since my test levels were so low, they said anything under 200 is ok, if it was 201 or higher I would be paying out of pocket.
