    Blood Work and HRT

Ok this is my first post but I have been lurking for at least four months just reading this board and others as well. First I should give some past history about myself. I was a competitive BB and won some titles when I was a teen and early twenties. Have done several cycles of AS. I guess I could go on about the cycles I did and what drugs but I wont. I wish that this board existed when I was using. Oh well. Let me get into the meat and potatoes. Well I have not used AS in well over eight years and I have not lifted weights in close to three. Just got burnt out had no energy and lost all my motivation.(Little clue here).

After reading this board I decided to have my total testosterone checked through a lab, which I found through this board. I have been tired as s**t for the past several years and never thought that it might be low testosterone . I had a very stressful job and worked nights. Well it was on 4/11/07 my testosterone serum came back 291 ng/dL. Which would be considered low for a thirty six year old male.

I decided to call an HRT clinic that I found in the back of one of the BB mags. I spoke to rep who was very friendly and was easy to talk to. I told him about the blood work and he stated that I would be a candidate if my CBC and other blood test and physicals came back good. Now here is the clincher very expensive. For one bottle of test cyp was very high priced and test eth was a little higher. Needles would be extra and so on and so on. Well just for the hell of it I faxed my blood work and physical. There doctor approved of it with out a problem. I told them I wanted to wait a little and think about it.

Since reading this board I started to read about Anthony Roberts and his product MyogenX. Well I decided to give it a try. I purchased two bottles of MyogenX and started to take six pills a day. Three weeks had passed and I did not notice anything, nothing at all. Week four I started to feel that my right nipple was a little sensitive. I do have a little gyno from the past cycles from many years ago. So what did I do next. Since the HRT clinic was high priced and since I did have insurance I made an apt with an endo. I showed her the blood tests results and she decided to run full blood work on me the whole shabang, everything. Well I continued to take MyogenX and thought my blood work for total test would be higher. Nope it had dropped way down even lower. Now it was 152 ng/dl total. My free test was 83 pg/100ml. My LH was 1.1 MIU/ML and my FSH was 0.7 MIU/ML. My prolactin was low 2.7 NG/ML and Cortisol was low 1.7 UG/DL. The good thing was that my sperm level was high at 130.0 H x 10E6/ml. This is very good because I am currently trying to have a baby with my wife. The Endo asked if I ever used AS. I said that I did. Now here comes the questions for you guys. My endo said that she can tell because my LH and FSH was low. She said that my pituitary gland is not making enough testosterone. I tough the testes only make test? Or it is not sending enough signal to my testes to produce testosterone. Since I am tring to have a baby with my wife I asked her to prescribe Arimidex . She was a little hesitant but she wrote a scrip for it for 180 days. Next question should I take Arimidex for how long or just not mess with it. She stated she would prescribe me test but that would be after my wife is pregnant. Any advise would be nice. Thanks guys.

    welcome to the board

1st ? yes...that is what she meant...pituitary signals the testes to make the test

2nd ? seing how you have a doctor that is willing to work with you i advise just monitoring your blood levels and see how the arimidex is working for you there are a lot of ppl that use arimidex alone in there hrt including my doctor....your test level was the same as mine when i started hrt a year ago....i've been on test the whole time and added arimidex soon after switching from gel to injections of test....blood work is fine including cholesterol, liver, etc.

    don't know anything about myogenX

good luck with your treatment and the baby

    take care

I am kinda in the same boat--test levels were 239 after 7 months being off gear--doc perscribed Testim gel--wanted top get wife pregnant first--waited she got pregnant then started Testim--now levels at 271 but wife just miscarried(very sad) and starting injections for a couple of months (3 months before can try again) so if I want her pregnant have to come off test again--been hearing hcg can stimulate sperm count so may try to get that later
maybe she will give you hcg, test will make you feel alot better but everyone says it shuts down sperm production

    good luck
