If your friend is a doctor, can he just prescribe you TRT?
So I'm debating on starting TRT. My question is: if your friend is a doctor, can he just prescribe you a TRT regimen? Even if he is not an endocrinologist? What if he is not an endo guy but a nephrologist?
What are the laws in the USA about this? I don't want my friend to get in any trouble or anything...and it really wouldn't be illegal since it's just TRT and not a cycle.
I have another friend who is a surgery resident, who I am actually closer with. Would a resident be able to prescribe me a TRT regimen? And what if he doesn't live in the same state as I do?
How would this work? Does he just write me a script and that's it, or what?

He has to be a practicing doctor, so I don't believe that a resident surgeon would qualify or not (is that more like an intern - or is he licensed to practice in that state?). If he is licensed to practice, he can absolutely and fully legally prescribe for HRT... whether its Test Cyp or AndroGel or Testim or AIs like Arimidex or whatever.
Now he had better be able to justify his prescriptions. If you have - before going onto his prescriptions - a Total T of 728 on a 220 - 1000 range and excellent Free T ranges, etc., and he's prescribing you 200 mg of Test a week and you now have Total T levels of 1900 (or whatever) and Free T out of sight, if the State Medical Board becomes aware of it (or the FDA, etc.... and you'd be surprised how many people will turn them in on that: office staff, co-workers, a former girlfriend, etc., etc.) then he'll get turned in to the DEA because he's not dispensing HRT at that point, he is committing the felony offense of "dealing" in steroids (as Test above physiological levels are considered a steroid as in AAS).
But if it legit HRT, and they are licensed to practice in the State, then yes, they can prescribe HRT. If you have a legit situation, go to Dr Crisler's web site, print out his protocols and give to them with the commentary that this is one of the top HRT practitioners in the field and that here's his protocol for free yet.

yes and no
well a resident can write scripts.. but for any controled substance the doc must have a file on you... aka an exam.. blood work etc.. a resident would have a very hard time doing this do to the supervision they recieve.
any other md can write for you as can the resident.. and not do the paperwork.. but that is asking for trouble..
i was in your shoes before.. and i just went the full legit way... if they are your friends... do ask them to do this.. its just not worth it..
