    High RBC Count

My doctor got my blood work results today and called me and told me my red blood cell count is too high. I haven't got the lab test numbers yet but should see them soon. She says a high RBC together with my high blood pressure could increase risk of a stroke. She wants me to get my RBC lower before she gives me a script for test. She told me to start taking aspirin every day to help lower my RBC.

Any other suggestions on lowering RBC?

Here is another oddity. I haven't had a test injection in 6 weeks and have done no pct, but she says my test levels are in the normal range. The lab should have the report to me in a day or so, then I can give actual test and RBC numbers. Is it possible I have been on test for the last 9 months and not shut down?

Very quick way of lowering your RBC is to give blood.

No I don't think it's possible to not be shut down. ***ending on how much you were on and what you were on you could still have test in your system. Say you were on a 600mg of test cyp a week, and you had built up blood levels of 1200mg. With a half life of 14 days just to make it easy. After 2 weeks you're down to 600mg test in your system. After 4 weeks you're down to 300mg. After 6 weeks down to 150mgs in your system. Numbers arn't exact, and I don't know what or how much you were on but there could still be test in your system from your cycle I would think.

I was only on about 90 mg/week of test-e plus an AI and HGH. I stopped everything at least a month before my physical. I was only on a modest HRT type dose.

Ah sorry, I thought you were coming off a long cycle. Why'd you come off HRT?

Because my HRT was self directed and not doctor supervised, I wanted to see if I could get my regular doctor to prescribe a real medically supervised testosterone replacement therapy for me. I had hoped an abrupt ending of my test shots would drop my test levels below the normal range. But my levels are still in the normal range. She is still willing to go with HRT, but wants me to get my RBC down first. She says an aspirin a day will help. I go back and see her in August to see how my new blood pressure meds are working and I'll get new blood work just before that visit.

normal dose aspirin won't change your rbc count, only high doses will do that.
Give blood, or make yourself bleeding, dunno, but one aspirin a day will not do much ( nothing )

got ya. Good idea. Atleast she's still willing to prescribe test being in the normal range.

got my blood tests in the mail today. RBC only slightly out of range. My total and free test levels are about what they were before I started trt, right in the middle of the lab's reference range. Up until April I was using high quality test-e from norma. I have no Idea why my test levels are where they are, but my doctor is convinced that the high RBC is from the test-e injections.

On the bright side, my cholesterol is much improved, triglycerides are low and I am in relatively good shape for being fat, 59 with high blood pressure. I am doing 60 min of high intensity spinning (aerobic cycling) 3 days a week and keep up with the youngsters fairly well. Also do elliptical 3-4 days a week. I am off weights and just doing aerobics till I get my weight down.
