My dad
My dad is 58 years old and keeps complaining about how he's getting to old to play baseball anymore and they benched him last weekend cause he can't keep up with them. So now he's thinking about quitting baseball. I know he loves the sport cause he's been playing non-stop since he was 10. I would hate to see him go out like that. He recently started taking some gh replacement supplement which I guess is over the counter. Anyway I'm just looking for advice on what he should do.

OTC GH products dont work !!
He should go get blood work done to see where his hormones levels are ... He might wanna look in to going on HRT..

He should get some bloodwork done and see what his testosterone levels are. There's alot of information in this section about TRT: Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

Thats a good idea. I'll bring it up to him. Hopefully he does it. He's pretty stubborn about his health. Thanks for the advice. If anyone has any more advice I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

Just tell him to remember when he was twenty years old and he felt invincible. Start TRT and he'll get that feeling back. Since I stated on TRT, I always sleep for at least 8 hours solid. Before I was lucky if I slept for three hours in a row. My workouts are better, I'm able to recover quicker too. I think the benefits outweigh any hassles associated with hormone therapy.
Peace,
CR

I agree, at his age a complete blood work is probably in order, especailly testosterone , estrogen, dhea, etc... Testosterone deficiency in old age is quite common, although not often treated...

Well, I talked to my dad and suggested he get some blood work done but he's claiming that it wouldn't be good for him because he has high cholesterol. hhmm. I'm gonna keep talking to him and try to get him to at least mention it to the doc to see what he thinks.
