Are there any endocronologist or someone with GREAT knowledge to answer a question?
I need to know if anyone on this site is an endocronologist or has extreme knowledge about hormonal response while on cycle. There is a study examining the body's normal hormonal response to weight training that will involve muscle biposies. Does the body still generate a hormonal response similar to when you are 'off' while training even though the blood androgen content is already at extreme levels AND will a biopsy be able to determine if you are 'on'. The reason I am asking is because there is good compensation for the study for the very little time involved, however if this study would determine that I was 'on' it could be devastating for my career/image...too bad there are so many haters out there! As soon as someone knows that you're 'on' you automatically become someone who cheated to get where he was and doesn't know what they are talking about...all lies built by the media and people who know nothing about the truth! Anyway, any input?

Sure.
Your "professor who is one of the leaders in muscle physiology and endocrinology"?!
What is your opiinion of the best rep scheme for Bodybuilding?

Im not real sure what your asking but a biopsy will be able to tell if your on. biopsy's are taken for a real time snap shot of what is going on at a particular moment. If you have high serum test levels from AAS usage they will for sure be able to tell especially if that is what their looking for as far as changes in hormone concentrations.

Lol, I would ask my professor but seeing that he is heading the study it wouldn't be a good idea. I'm going to have to find out exactly what they are looking for. I would imagine to see if there is any change in serum levels pre and post exercise. I know the androgen receptor content in the muscles increase with use, however I am not sure if they are looking at the receptor level. It says nothing of blood tests, so I don't see how they could measure serum levels...hmmm. I guess I'm wondering if anyone has seen a biopsy picture of muscles 'on' and 'off'. Basically, will my biopsy stick out like a sore thumb compared to others? Wow, I think I just made myself even more retarded than I already was

Well if its a study then he can not give out your results. If he did that would be highly against the law. The worst that could happen is that he would exclude you from the study. Which in that case he can not disclose why you were excluded. If you were dropped in the middle of the study he could however explain why a particular individual was dropped from the study but that is up to him. Typically you would be assigned a random ID number and you would be unknown to most of the co-investigators. If you have a copy of his IRB then you can find out exactly what they are looking for. He must provide you with a copy of that document to all those who are involved in the study.

Also.. might you think he would be interested to have one lab rat one juice so he could have a little outlyer data? I mean, couldn't it be good info to have for such a study on muscles (or whatever it is) to have someone in your unique position? you never know.. he may actually be happy to have someone like that but not able to advertise it much...

I would say if they are going to do biopsys than full blood work is probably a no brainer especially if you are a statistical outlier for some reason. You are going to taint the study at the very least. The fact that it is hormonal response, and your hormones are going to be off the charts and non-indicative of what they are trying to discover in the study, I'll guess you will be thown out of the study, possibly not compinsated, and surely known to use steroids . They will not be happy to have you in the study as sphincter says as they are trying to prove hormonal response.

Thanks guys for the input. I knew my hormone levels would be off the charts, I just wasn't sure if there would be any change pre and post workout. But the fact of 'tainting' the tudy never crossed my mind and that would be a good enough reason not to do it! Oh and though my professor wouldn't be able to disclose to info to anyone, he is still the one that will be trying to place me into a good job...so if he feels that I have cheated or not worked to my potential for any reason then I could get screwed. I don't think that would happen but there is always the chance! Like I said before, the truth that the media portrays is obviously not right, and 'juice' has a bad rep. We all know that us being 'on' does not change anything, we work harder than anyone, eat stricter and healthier diets, have more dedication, and posess great knowledge....we know that 'juice' is not a magic drug, but unfortunately the normal population believes it is and it can easily taint a reputation! So this is to the media and anyone who falls into the trap
