anyone ever use DMSO with a patch

A while back I had to treat an outbreak of a parasite in my Marine Reef tank. The fix for treating this parasite was to use a heartworm medication and DMSO for membrane penatration. I know the test patches have a bad rap as being uneffective at delivering test. I was wondering if a substance that helps transport through membrane(DMSO) would help. It is just a thought, and probably just a byproduct of my need to modify things. Here is a website to check out about DMSO.
