Endo Appt - What to expect?
After a normal low total test value (382 ng/dL) I managed to convince my doctor for another blood test. All he could do for me was a "test panel." It tested total test and SHBG only.
I received the results over the weekend, and they were
total test: 289 (ref: 280-800 ng/dL)
SHBG: 13.5 (ref: 14.5-48.4 nmol/L)
Today, my doc calls me and he told me I had low test levels and referred me to an endocrinologist. I have never been to a specialist ever, what should I expect?

the office will look similar, there will be a receptionist where you'll sign in, wait a little while, you'll talk to a nurse first that will likely do your vitals...ie: blood pressure, pulse, weight, ask if you're on any meds, etc...then the big bad endo will come in and ask wuts up doc? this is when you tell the doc why you're there....he/she will likely order another blood work and discuss your options or might not even do that until they get em back...i think i got a finger up the as$ by my endo on the first visit if not then it was the second...my endo was female and didnt like it when i asked her to wiggle it around a little

Just make sure when he bends you over and starts to insert the finger, he doesn't have one hand on your shoulder and the other on your hip!

Ive been to endo's persistently since i was 18. As jpkman stated, more then likely he will have u get another blood test, if not the results of the previous faxed to the office and go over your options. Depending on the kind of endo it is, more then likely if your hopin he'll prescribe you test cyp or eth, I doubt he will. More then likely it would be androgel , a testosterone gel thats applied on the arms and other specific areas. There's also patches you can wear, ive used em before, f****n hated em, they ithch like crazy and leave marks where you apply em. either way, best of luck bro

Yeah, when they dim the lights and put on some Berry White you might want to pull up your drawers...
A list of the worst possible things to hear before, during, or after a prostate exam:
1. Somebody's been working out.
2. Before we start I should tell you, I have enormous hands.
3. God, my fingers feel like icicles.
4. Oh man, it's a little late now, but I'm out of clean gloves. Don't worry, the guy before you was clean as a whistle.
5. Was I wearing my ring before the exam?
6. Ooo … me likey!
7. Oh crap, I broke a nail.
8. Look man, no hands!
9. Dude, you're like the world's biggest ventriloquist's dummy right now!
10. Hey man, I don't know what it was and I know this is wrong but… what are you doing after this?
11. I can move some appointments around and- Hey! Where are you going? Don't you walk away from me!
We were magical! I know where you live!
12. Wow, that's the smoothest whatever-the-hell-that-is I've ever felt.
13. I don't want you to panic or anything… but I'm stuck.
14. Yahtzee!
15. You know I'm not a real doctor, right?
