How to find the right doctor?

I have been through a family doctor and a urologist without any luck in feeling secure about their treatment options. I really don't want to have to go through the expense of an HRTclinic.

I wrote the compounding pharmacy in Columbus and asked if they could recommend a physician that uses their services. I explained my situation about being hypogonadal. They sent me the name and number of a physician in town. He looks fairly young and I actually think that is a good thing.

I have been paying co-pays and deductibles out the ying-yang for all of my visits. I want to avoid having another useless office visit if possible with another doctor.

I want to contact him to find out how he usually treats patients with low testosterone , what type of ranges he likes to see his patients in, and if uses HCG or anti-e's.

I am not sure how to contact him. Should I call and talk to his nurse or ask to speak with him.? Should I fax a letter to him explaining my situation and asking the above questions?

What do you think and what else would you ask?

i called around before making an appointment with my new doc. i made about 4 calls to local docs and only two called back. one was the doc i'm seeing now and the other had her assitant call to ask what i wanted. when i started asking questions they went right over her head and she said the doc wasn't available to chat. that was a huge red flag and a good indication of the kind of treatment i'd be getting.

the doc i'm seeing now chatted with me for about 20 minutes so that was a good sign. i've been seeing him for three months now and i'm very happy with the service.

i asked him pretty much the same questions you posted and all his answers agreed with what i know about TRT protocols.
