AACE-Clinical Guidelines on treating Hypogonadism
Like many of you on HRT, or looking to get on HRT, the lack of knowledge of many doctors is frustrating. I came across the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists Medical Guidelines for Clinical Practice for Evaluation and Treatment of Hypogonadism in Adult Male Patients- 2002 Update. This document basically says what everyone here is saying.
1. Injections should be given every 7-10 days
2. HCG can be used if the patient wants to have kids (using HCG in conjunction w/ testosterone wasn't specifically mentioned but it may give you some ground to stand on).
3. There is a mention of using aromatase inhibitors to combat estrogen (albeit brief)
Hopefully this information will help, here is the link.
