Can someone tell me in plain English what the hell this means!
Thanks everyone for the great advice so far. As previously stated I have a doctors visit this week where he and I will go through my trt scripts. I dont quite yet understand all the measurements for different things, and I guess different docs use different verbiage but here is what my doc prescribed and what my blood test showed.
Doc script for....
75mg test e twice a week.
hcg and clomid (cant remember dosage)
My blood showed the following (this is really where I dont know what the heck I'm talking about so bare with me)
My total test was 590
My free test was 79 (doc says this was very low)
Doc said he wanted my estrogen to be under "4". It came it at .26 which he said is very low and why I wouldnt need an AI initially.
Said the prostate test was excellent (have no idea what that meant)
and said something about thyroid that was in the proper range as well although I dont know what the actual result was. Our conversation was over the phone and I can actually see the results this week.
Does this make sense to anyone? Is 79 low free test? What can I expect from 150mg a week of test e to do for me? Energy? Fat loss? Lean muscle? Absolutely nothing? Anyhow appreciate the advice
Thanks
KS

Is the free test 7.9 or 79? The scale I'm used to seeing would indicated that 79 is way over the top.
Your total test at 590 is usually right where a lot of docs want you to be. Most usually won't even talk with you about TRT until you're down in the 200's or very low 300's. When he said your prostate is "excellent" he means your prostate is excellent. Not trying to be a smart ass, but it means just what he said, it's in good shape. If it wasn't, he would probably refrain with TRT.
Increased "T" levels can help with all aspects (energy, fat loss, lean muscle). However, it won't do it all for you. It is simply a conduit to make these things attainable. It will be up to you, your diet, and your workout routine to truly make a difference. At 590, you're not too bad. When you hit in the 100's it's like a dark void, and nothing seems to function properly.

thanks vetteman,
yeah see this is where i dont get all the lingo. I think different docs have different ways of saying things.. for example my doc said he would like my free test to be between 250-350. of what i dont know. perhaps you drop a zero and it should be between 25-35? who knows. that would then make my free test 7.9 as you stated. shit is confusing in the beginning.
He did say that total test of 590 was right in the normal range. but being that my free is so low, he advised starting trt.
I also had my blood done early in the morning and he said your test levels could be quite different in the afternoon...
I always thought a doc needed to give you the one finger salute to check your prostate, thats why I didnt get how blood work could determine that.... I'm saving that for a 40th bday present for myself next year!
anyhow, in a couple of weeks I'll probably look back on this and laugh, just shitting bricks right now i guess
