Questions after visiting doc
After reading all the stickied threads and trying to educate myself on the subject, I'm a little confused at my doctor's plan of attack.
I'm 36 years old, had several symptoms of low T so I brought it up to my PCP during my physical. BW results showed low total (354 ng/dL) but that was the limit of their testing ability -- no E2, free test or other markers measured, also he felt that as long as the total was in the reference range it was okay.
Went to another PCP that a friend recommended who comes across more well read on current studies and willing to pull more comprehensive panels. The BW results came back and I'm waiting to see the actual numbers. (I expect to receive the full test numbers via mail in a couple days)
This 2nd doctor agreed my T was low and said my "estrogen levels" were normal. He offered to provide Test C shots in office to "jumpstart" my natural production, but nothing else (AI, hcg ) and even these shots were to be a temporary monthly thing.
From reading the other posts, this seems like I will be on a roller coaster from these irregular shots and may end up lower than before. Also, I didn't think providing exogenous test would restart test production and in fact would be quite the opposite. Is this a correct assumption, or is this a normal first step of the troubleshooting when you actually find a "good doctor"?

Your assumptions are correct, and so is your conclusion. HCG may jump start your nutts, but TRT shuts you down. Your doc is flat out wrong

agree with above...maybe you can go ahead with his plan of attack...i too was similar and they planned on pinning in the office but had me pick up the vial and i was supposed to bring it in for the shot but said NOPE after seeing my vial....i just told them that i planned on doing it myself....no arguments were given and they even refilled...so you could try this route...may we ask what are your symtoms/reasons for checking your hormones?
best of luck however it goes

I would consult an anti aging/ wellness doctor. there are probably dozens in your area. Most D.O.'s are aging specialists. If you live in a really remote area, there are several online clinics that can help connect you with a specialist.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I was out of town visiting family. I finally got my full blood panel results:
Total Test: 347.2 ng/dL (175-781)
LH: 2.88 mIU/mL (1.24-8.62)
FSH: 2.74 mIU/mL (1.27-19.26)
Estradiol: 22 pg/mL (20-75)
PSA: 1.24 ng/mL (0-4.0)
TSH: 2.61 mIU/mL (0.34-5.60)
Libido is terribly low with occasional ED, almost a total lack of sex drive, very rarely morning wood, minor depression, lack of aggressiveness, lack of focus at work, difficulty recovering from workouts along with strength losses and storage of fat predominately in the abdominal region. If I hadn't seen TRT mentioned by another powerlifter, I would have never thought of it. I saw all the "Low T" commercials and realized many of my symptoms fit.
Thankfully I live in the south bay area of Los Angeles, so I should be able to find a decent doc. Once I have enough posts, I'll have to PM vetteman to find out his recommendations.Last edited by wczs; 07-19-2010 at 10:29 PM. Reason: Additional information

WCZS, you're still only at 2 posts. Head over to the lounge and hit the post whore section.
In the meantime ... PBD, you driving a RT? If so, what's the HP specs? We also have a Lexus in the garage, so it's a real mixed bag at the house. My heart & soul belongs to my Corvette, but it's basically my weekend and gym car, and the foundation to a happy mid life crisis!
Ok, this thread has been royally hijacked , but I'll make it up to you OP with a good clinic referral when you hit 25.

I really like the outside looks of the Charger and Challenger, but was disappointed how the interior felt like a generic Dodge rental car. Such a pretty wrapper and yet I was behind the wheel of a Neon.

Yeah, those Challengers are hot, and they're coming with some damn good HP! Pop a ProCharger and dyno tune it, and it will add another 150hp. Truthfully, I'd take one of those over the Camaro any day. I just can't seem to embrace that Camaro, but the Challenger is a no brainer!
** Man I feel guilty, I've never hijacked a thread so hard in my life! And sadly, I'm enjoying it!!! Talking cars is my weakness, and I just can't resist. OP, I swear you will get a legit clinic lead and a Ford dealership lead when you hit 25 posts.

I know jpkman won't believe me, but I really like the Mustang. My big beef with Ford is that they make the damn thing too heavy. That Shelby 500 is hot!!!, but with 500hp it's only pulling 0-60 in 4.8 secs or so. I think they've got a new one pulling 550hp and it will pull low 12's in the 1/4. The Elsinore remods are just plain wicked!

Ereg, where you at? We need to run em! I'll be the Auto Speedway in Fontana in August, don't know if you're anywhere close in the world or not. How much boost you getting on your charger? I'm getting 6 lbs on mind, will need to mod the heads and such if I reduce the pulley.
Nice car, I'd really like to go for a spin!
BTW, OP hit 25 posts and he now has a clinic to check out. Everyone wins!Last edited by Vettester; 07-21-2010 at 08:04 PM.

I'm in the Detroit Metro area....Kind of the other side of the world, however we do host the Woodward Dream Cruise which is one of the most amazing car showcase events in the country.
My charger is putting out 12.5 lbs of boost. The pulley is smaller than the one that came with it. I need to do a custom exhaust, but other than that the car is everything I've ever dreamed of.
You're Vette looks pretty nasty though...Prob kick my butt.

Mid to low 11's in the 1/4 mile. 194mph before the ProCharger, plan on at least 150 mph at the Auto Speed Way next month.
Might change the pulley out with the heads and pull around 10lbs boost. My team in Corona estimate 700+ at that point ... Keep giving me my "T"!!!!
