I'm done with Endos, help me locate an AA please!
Over the past 18 months, I've done everything I could and in good faith attempted to work with 3 Endos. 2 were male and 1 was female, all were complete and utter morons. The 2 male Endos were worthless and the female Endo was for lack of a better term, "A disgrace to her field".
I just completed a full CBC, Urine, and Metabolic panel (10 vials of blood) and tested everything. The results were very poor....
Within 10 months of my last blood panel....
-My TT went from the 604 down to 490
-Free test is 108 (ref range is 52 - 280)
-My E2 is still at 54 pg/ml (ref range 7 - 42)
-My HDL is low
-My LDL is high
-DHT is 36 (ref range 30-85)
In a nutshell the last and final Endo (a female) told me it was ok to have have E2 and low test, even it was out of range. Yet she flipped out about my Lipid profile.
Even better when I questioned how are we going to get my E2 back in range, she comment we're not. When I questioned that with all that I was feeling along with how E2 in men causes high BP, water retention, and that the ratio should be 40:1 of my TT, she flipped out (oops....boxed her into a corner....effin quack). She went on this BS rant about how she's board certified and that she on this board and this council. I'm done with Endos, they're good for treating diabetics....that's it.
With 5 pages of lab reports in hand and proof from the lab that certain hormones are not within range, I would like to get my quality of life back. Can anyone suggest (via Private Message) either an online Clinic that will look at my current labs or a Clinic in the PA, NY, NJ area? Yes I know you can Google 10,000 clinics in the US, but I'm looking for one that won't blow smoke up my ass.
I can't deal with feeling like 193lbs of dead weight everyday. Just getting up is a chore, I would love to go to the gym.....but with the lack of energy comes a lack of motivation. I eat well, watch my carbs and sugar, eat lots of protein, take vitamins, and have done everything these Endos said to do. All I got was a lighter wallet.
I would love to get my E2 and TT ratio to that ideal 40:1, actually I'm willing to bet that if I just got my E2 lower, it would bring up my TT naturally. My insurance covers all forms of Test, AIs, HGH, so getting a script filled for them wouldn't be an issue with insurance.
Can anyone help me out?

Just find an anti-aging clinic. Your Test levels seems to be well within the normal range (most people on TRT are in the 100-300 range), so it's going to be hard to find an Endocrinologist who is going to be convinced you need treatment.

I can so relate to what you are saying. I have seen 3 male endo's because I have always had symptoms of low test and low growth hormone . My test levels were in the low range for a prepubescent boy and my GH and IGF1 levels were not detectable but each Endo referred me to a Psychiatrist to deal with my depression and the fact that I had no interest in life.
I decided to treat myself and went to Thailand for 3 weeks. I used 4IU per day of Jin****** for 18 days and I lost 33lbs in those 18 days. My depression went away. My sleeping pattern became normal and for the first time in my life I felt normal and had energy and was interested in life.
My General Practitioner could not believe the difference it made to me so she did some tests and a CT scan found that I have 2 pituitary brain tumors. They are prolactin secreting Prolactinomas which are stopping my body from producing HGH which is why exogenous HGH had such a dramatic affect on me. They also interfere with my LH and FSH levels which affects my production of Test.
I am going to a 4th Endo on Thursday. This time it's a female but I fully expect to be treating myself again by Friday even though I have had a Pain Specialist write to her recommending HRT because I have had a broken back and developed a degenerartive spinal problem caused by a lifetime of low Test and HGH.
I know how frustrated you would feel which is why I rely on sites like this and the many knowledgable people who contribute here to try and give myself some quality of life.
The only advice I have received from the Endo's so far is to move to Thailand and to self medicate. Absolutely ridiculous advice when I have a genuine need for HGH and HRT but all they can offer is counselling and antidepressants to deal with my poor quality of life. All the knowledge you need is available online these days and most specialist Doctors are only concerned with pushing certain medications from the Pharmaceutical companies who pay them the most incentives.
I do hope you find a solution. Sorry for the rant.Last edited by HoRuS; 08-16-2010 at 05:45 AM.

I'm in the same boat as you, and it's sad because I have proof in black and white. Do you know how frustrating it is for a board certified Endo to have a 10 month old blood panel and another blood panel only 4 weeks old to compare what's going on. In black in white all of my metabolic numbers are worse then what they were 10 months ago, and then she proceeds to tell me I'm fine.
Case in point, my TT dropped from 612 to 493. My FSH is now at 2.2, the out of range limit is 1.5, the optimal number should close to 10.0 with the upper limit being 12.3.
Did I mention that I'm not on anything at all and my numbers contine to drop.
They only thing that did work was me getting my Vitamin-D which was out of range into the single digits back up to a healthy level. 4000iu of Vitamin-D caps over 6 weeks actually worked!!! Ready for this, the Endo told me to stop taking them becuase they don't work........yup......I guess the lab lied to us!Last edited by Alloy; 08-16-2010 at 09:17 AM.

My TT is currently at 144 and I have no energy or motivation. I sleep heaps and rarely leave my house. Instead of any Endo taking my problems seriously and treating the organic cause of the problem and fixing my hormone levels, they simply want to bandaid each of the symptoms.
I am now aged 44 and have been on over 50 different types of antidepressants since the age of 23. Living most of my life with low Test and HGH has caused scoliosis, osteporosis and a spinal degenerative problem but Doctors are too worried about people abusing steroids . I now live in constant pain because no Doctor has ever treated me properly and the only times I have ever felt OK was when I self administered HGH or AAS.
I'l just do my own research and use whatever drugs I can get access to so I can improve my quality of life. It's difficult to find a Doctor who is willing to take you seriously are treat your problems properly. Even when you do find a Doctor willing to help, they will only get your levels to the minimum level for your age but this range for me has been determined by taking an average of men aged 40 to 49 and most men that age do have low test. So their referance range was determined by men with low test to begin with and the levels are not enough for any substantial therapeutic effect. I just give up on Doctors.

big aussie, I totally agree with you. The Endo's are useless. I recently went to a Pain Specialist due to my 11 year addiction to Morphine tablets. I was put on Morphine after being run over by a semi trailer and having a broken back and leg. He told me I have an 84 year old spine in a 44 year old body and admitted that all of my health problems have been made far worse due to never being treated for low Test and HGH.
He said that in a perfect world I would be getting treated with testosterone and HGH supplements but because of the bad publicity that Steroids and HGH gets and the strict control of these substances in Australia that Doctors are actually afraid of the legal repercussions if they prescribe them even if the patient has a legitimate need for them.
It seems easier for them to say, "yeah, we know you feel like crap and you think life isn't worth living, so you should live in a drug induced haze by taking these antidepressants and antipsychotics."
It's crazy that I am able to freely choose to destroy my health with cigarettes and alcohol if I choose to but I cannot get access to Testosterone and HGH to give me a normal quality of life because the government thinks I may abuse these drugs which may affect my health. I wish test and HGH were socially acceptable and cigarettes and alcohol were banned. I guarantee there would be far less health problems in society if this were the case.
Thanks for the offer to help mate. I'll get my post count up and PM you.
