How long for test levels to drop?
I went to the doc today and talked to him about my low test problems. I was on trt thru another doc before I had to give up my insurance. I have been getting myself up till now and now have insurance again. He wants me to come off my shots (200mg/week) to have my levels tested and make sure it's low enough for insurance to cover it.
How long should I wait till I have crashed and my levels are really low??
Thanks alot!!

I'd say two to three weeks.

For a 1/2 life of 7 days at and Total T = 800
0 Days = 800
7 days = 400
14 days = 200
21 days = 100
28 days = 50

I think in theory this is correct if you have a constant dose being admisitered, but it seems to me that your body is also using t up - so when you stop, the levels will drop faster than your figures because of your body's uptake of the t and conversion to other hormones. Just my opnion though.

There are factors that can extend and shorten how bloods levels actually test. This is assuming you take a shot and only 1 shot and normal levels of estrogen conversion etc...
Overall a given blood level will drop by 50% every seven days.
It is a base from which to judge. Go give whole blood to speed it up too.

You can always wait a month and use one of the on-line labs and get yourself tested before you have your doc do it, that way you'll know for sure before you go. You don't need a scrpt and it's about $45 and takes approximately 2 days to get your results.

That's a good idea Forrest. I called one last night. I'll just have it tested once a week to find out for sure what the levels are.

VR - my experience was after 14 days from my first injection, I had a Total Test level of just under 200 (similar to what Durak had in his list). Of course, everybody's body uses things at different rates. When I first started, you had to be under 250 for my insurance to accept that you needed treatment...
