Anti-aging Clinic/Endocrinologist referal?
To make a long story short I have every symptom of low test levels so I had my Test levels checked by my primary care Dr and they came back low. They are below what he considers to be "normal". However he says that he doesn't think it is necessary to do anything about it.
He basically told me that he doesn't condone the use of synthetic testosterone except in extreme cases and certainly not in guys as young as me (33). So I asked him to refer me to an endocrinologist and he told me that he is an endocrinologist
So I have been feeling like shit for months, have all the symptoms yet my primary care Dr. won't explore the possibility of putting me on TRT because he doesn't believe in it.
So I was hoping that someone here could recommend an open-minded anti-aging clinic or an endocrinologist that could help me out.
Obviously I have the tools and the ability to take care of this myself and get my test levels back up almost instantly but I want to do it the right way and be monitored.
If this is against board rules I apologize. Any PM's that could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I am located South of Boston Ma.
Thanks
Karo

Keep in mind that an anti-aging clinic doesn't have to be local to use. Many people use Florida clinics since there's so many and they seem to have less restrictions. If you can't find one locally, PM me and I will refer you to the one I use in Florida.

Will these anti-aging clinics help anyone no matter what your age is?

There are certainly more issues that arise if you are too young, as your body hasn't fully developed on it's own and should be producing plenty of T and HGH. The short answer is it depends.

its not like he's 23.. he's 33 if he's still having growth and development at that age he has other issues...
you can also search online there are several online clinics that will ship to you... just a bit pricier...
on the side note just switch docs..

Anyone with some more information on this? With the frequency that I've heard this from docs, I don't feel that its just an issue of them all being misinformed...

There's still a huge stigma associated with steroids . Most GPs would probably want to steer clear of that sort of thing, and would rather you go see an endocrinoligist.

exactly. They are not educated in synthetic testosterone therapy (many of them are as mis-informed as the general public) and don't want the liability of writing the script for you. So they send you to an Endo that may not be much more likely to write the script than they are. They don't want to see you ridden with acne, gyno, high cholesterol, heart disease, prostate cancer and then go home and kill you family in a fit of roid-rage from 200mgs of test cyp per week! (<---- sarcasm, in case you didn't catch it)
I've got a crash course in all this in the last couple weeks. What do you do? Jump over your Dr, your local Endo and find yourself a clinic. Doesn't even have to be in the same state.

So the general concensus is that 90% of doctors (we're talking tens of thousands of individuals here) and 90% of endocrinologists (another set of tens of thousands of people) ... are all just misinformed?
Im playing devils advocate here, not saying you guys are wrong, but I find it hard to believe that so many people dont have a reason for their all like-minded thinking ....

I wanted to come back and update this thread for anyone that is ever in the same situation that I was in and is considering going to a HRT Clinic.
Quick background, I had all the symptoms of low testosterone levels . I went to my primary care Dr with my concerns that i had low test. He told me that he could tell just by looking at me that I didn't have low test and that he would prescribe me some viagra if I needed it. After I demanded it he finally agreed to have bloodwork done on me but only to test for free testosterone because "that is all that is important" according to him. He also told me even if my test numbers came back low he wouldn't prescribe synthetic test because it "might give you high cholesterol"
So I decided to skip his bullshit "free test only" bloodwork that he ordered and contacted an anti-aging clinic that someone on this board pm'ed me when I asked for a referral in this thread. My experience with this clinic has been great so far. Today I got my bloodwork back and my test #'s were:
Serum Test, normal range 280-800
Mine - 255
Free Test, normal range 8.7-25.1
Mine - 3.9
What do you guys think? I realize the numbers are low for a 33 years old. What I don't quite understand exactly how low are they?
I can't wait to highlight these numbers with a marker and mail the paperwork to my primary care Dr. who told me that he could tell that my test levels were fine just by looking at me and that I was way too hairy to have low test!!
My contact at the clinic told me that I have LOTS of room for improvement and that he can guaranty that I will be feeling 1000% better once we get my numbers up to where they should be. I am relieved. I feel like this is the cause of a lot of problems that I have been having both physically and mentally.
I can't thank you guys enough for steering me in the right direction. I feel a debt of gratitude to you guys and this board. I'm going to take the time to help anyone that I can here in the future.
Thanks Bros!

glad you got somewhere that is looking out for you...we all know that the clinic is the easiest way to go and most likely all would be with one if we had the dough...
as far as how low...pretty much you can see the range and where youre at...your free is even lower than your total % wise and agree that you will be feeling 1000 % better as your rep told you...
dont waste your time with the twit doctor let him be the best payback is living good
and thanks for your great attitude and sounds as if you will be a positive member on this forum
look forward to reading about your gains/success with your trt/hrt

Those numbers are almost exactly identical to mine prior to me starting TRT. At around 150mg/week, my total T was up to around 700. At 225/week, I was around 1100. Everyone is different, but your numbers should jump way up, and after a few weeks on TRT, you should definitely notice a difference. People make comments to me all the time now that I "look much healthier and energetic", and I've put on significant muscle mass (always struggled with gaining muscle weight) in just a few month's time at just a TRT level of testosterone . Granted, I've been hitting the gym like a mad man, but even in the past when I would turn into a gym rat, I always just got skinny and my strength gains were slow.
Keep us updated on your progress.
