Low ''T ''results from lab
A few weeks ago i got back some very sad testosterone lab results ,free testosterone 6.1,
and total testosterone 271 .
I had the labs done by my gp at my request.
My gp says i fall in to the normal range!
Ihave an appointment to see an Endo in my network in 2 weeks.
They declined to talk to me over the phone about anything else than the appointment.
I dont want to waste my time or money.
Is there any point in going to the Endo in hopes of getting injectable trt?.
Can i benefit from further labwork? does anyone self treat with hrt?
Age 37 199 ibs 5'11

Usually low T cannot be based on just one blood test, but a series of them yes.
You maybe in the low end of the normal range, but its still in the normal range.
Do you suffer from any symptoms of low test? if so then there would be some benefit to TRT
It all depends on the Endo and what he believes

My levels were around the same and my endo had no issues with starting a TRT protocol. Much of it may depend on what, if any, symptoms of low T you are experiencing. Some endo's focus strictly on the T score, whereas others care more about your symptoms and well being.

Also, just FYI but the "normal range" starts around 270-280 on all the bloodwork I have done, so you are at the VERY bottom, if not below it.
